My advice to new shooters: Sign up, read the rule book online, arrive early to the match, ask questions, enjoy the experience. The rule book can be found at Welcome to USPSA.org - Home of the United States Practical Shooting Association

Let me and the Range Officer that runs you know you are new and we can help as much as possible.

+1 for this. Coach is great about making the new guys feel comfortable.

In addition, all of the people that I have met so far have been nothing but supportive and helpful. It is usually a great crowd willing to offer pointers, make clarifications of the rules, and generally give you that atta-boy/girl that you need to get you moving.

We have room. Look for some suit case tricks.

"...Gun is loaded, inside suitcase...hands on head...on signal, retrieve pistol from suitcase and engage T1 with six rounds...(TSA Agent is no-shoot and will incur a ten-point penalty)..."
