Marion County Fish and Game's Bowling Pin Match will be this Saturday,
June 25th at 9:00 AM. Setup will begin at 8:00 AM and we would
appreciate the help of a few volunteers. The Safety Meeting (required
for new shooters) will be at 8:45 AM to explain the rules. At 9:00
    AM, we will begin shooting.

Don and I will both be AWOL this month (for different reasons).
Thanks to Bruce for agreeing to run the match in my absence. He will
be in need of extra help this month keeping score or acting as Range
    Officers.

If there is severe weather, the match may need to be canceled. I will
try to send an e-mail and post an announcement in the Shooting Sports
section of www.ingunowners.com by 7:30 AM if it is obvious the weather
    isn’t going to cooperate.

The cost is $3 per bracket for club members and $4 per bracket for
non-members. All money goes toward the club and/or making the
competition better. Youth (under the age of 18) shoot free with a
    paid adult.

Bowling Pin Shooting is conducted under a COLD RANGE. That means all

guns must be holstered (or bagged) at all times, unloaded, hammer
down, with no magazine inserted. You may only handle your gun at the
direction of a range officer (RO), or at the designated "safe table".
Violation of this or any other safety rule shall result in a match
    disqualification.

If you have any questions about the match, please read the rules
posted at: www.IndyRange.org (look under "Programs and Events" >
"Bowling Pins") If you are unable to find an answer posted in the
rules, please feel free to e-mail me.

If you are interested in shooting Pin Heads, bring your .22 LR's
    (pistol or rifle).

If you are willing to help as an RO or help keep score, that would be
    greatly appreciated.

Hope you can make it on Saturday.

I will be there and would be happy to help score if anyone wants to give me some instruction as I haven't done it before. I am not qualified to RO but would like to get certified in the future.

Bringing my Father for his first Bowling pin match!

E7Wrangler, Thanks for offering to help. We may need your help.
Helping your father safely navigate his first bowling pin match should be a prioirty.
It takes a while to get familiar with the game.
As far as I know, there's no "certification" to be one of our RO's at Bowling Pins.
Although, several of our RO's are or were USPSA RO's.
Might be wise for me to bring a few extra whistles in case someone wants to try calling the line.
    Once again, thanks for helping.

Looks like its a beautiful day for the bowling pin match. (If you believe the TV meterologists)
Consider bringing some water for self hydration.

Good idea singlesix, I'll bring mine too.
Harlan usually brings his, and I think bowling pins has one in the shed.
If I recall correctly, there's shade in that corner of the range for part of the morning.

Thanks to everyone who came out to slay the evil bowling pins.
Beautiful morning for pins , although it did get uncomfortably warm as the day progressed.
Thanks to everyone for helping set up, pin resetting and final tear down.
And thanks to everyone for being safe.

Thanks Dirtroad, and thanks for your help today.
Its good when everyone pitches in.
And yes, its good to see Don B doing well.

hps, if we told you, we'd have to kill you.
Don values his privacy, so I'm reluctant to post his situation here.
When/if he wants this forum to know the specifics, he'll post them.
I will say we are very happy he is doing well, and remains fiesty and mischevious as always.
You might message him, he may tell you.
