Applied Ballistics Hoser Fest 2019 is here!

This match is not a sanctioned match. The scoring rules do not follow USPSA so there are no classifiers and the match is scored as time plus penalties. It is most similar to Multi-Gun in that any hit on paper is full score.

This match will use equipment divisions following USPSA restrictions but it is a fun match only. We won't be looking too closely at division requirements. As long as the gun is safe to use on the range and roughly matches the division we'll find a way to fit it in.

Expect stages with little movement, lots of wide open targets, no hard cover targets, no no-shoot targets, no steel targets, and high round counts. You can shoot this match with a low capacity gun but hi-cap guns will be most at home here.

We have flights at noon, 3pm, and 6pm. This is a one day match only.

Come ready to paste targets! Scoring will move quickly but there will be lots of holes to cover up after each shooter. We'll need everyone pasting to keep things moving along.

Arrive no later than 30 minutes before your scheduled start time to get registered and paid. Estimated round count is approximately 200 but may vary. Bring plenty of ammunition!

Since the divisions, classes, and categories are slightly different than a USPSA match we thought it was worth posting them here so you can have a look:

    Divisions:
    - Production (I’m the only “Practical” shooter here)
    - Single Stack (I pray to John Moses Browning after my AARP meetings)
    - Revolver (I’m actually older than the Single Stack guys)
    - Carry Optics (Open guns are too expensive)
    - Limited (Optics and comps don’t belong on pistols)
    - Limited 10 (Why would anyone shoot this in a free state?)
    - Open (Rifles don’t belong at a pistol match)
    - PCC (Open shooters are such crybabies)

    Classes:
    - Grand Poobah (Jerry Miculek is slow)
    - Regular Poobah (Jerry’s not bad, but I’m better)
    - Alpha (I’m getting pretty good)
    - Bravo (I don’t completely suck)
    - Charlie (I’ve shot before but I still suck)
    - Delta (I can pass the police qual course without much effort)
    - Unclassified Newbie (Who’s Jerry Miculek?)

    Categories:
    - Young Pup (Skinny jeans make this difficult)
    - Cocky Young Adult (I picked a class two above my actual skill level)
    - Mid-Life Crisis (I shoot open and drove my Corvette to the match)
    - Old Fart (Can I use my walker as a shooting rest for my 1911?)
    - Revolver Shooter (I knew Jesus before the resurrection)
    - 5-0 (My department provided me with 37 practice rounds last year!)
    - Grunt (I’m not used to shooting in A/C)
    - POG (I can’t shoot in this oppressive hear, can’t a grunt do this for me?)
