    “Varmint Hunt”

Varmint Hunt format is the most challenging of the three formats we rotate. Twenty entries today, 3 shooters ran 2 guns, and 2 junior shooters joined us.

Andriy Lekynak continued his hot streak, winning two classes. Will Kaufman won Standard with an outstanding 52. Rich Hawkins continued his quest for a permanent trophy in the “2[SUP]nd[/SUP] Sucks” category. We had 3 first timer shooters, all with very positive comments about how this match is so different from anything else offered.

    Highlights & Oh-Crap’s
Travis Weir was the only shooter to run a stage, a couple others came close. Several shooters arrived with guns they had not yet fired in competition. Randy Hillyer started out headed for “I suck at this” but turned it around and shot very well on the last 2 stages. Newbie Steve Retz shot a borrowed rifle and got hooked. Nathan Noah Norman Weir took junior honors with a very good 39.

We rotate the format so these matches don't get stale. July format is "20 Straight". Everyone this month will be lumped together in one class and shoot the Master Class targets at 110, 165, and 200 yards. Targets are sized at 2 MOA, so any rifle that can hit the end of a pop can at 100 yards is suitable. Steel targets are reactive when hit. Come on over! Wednesday evening July 1, Saturday July 11 9am.
