Background - We have been wanting to do a carbine match all year. However, an un-expected opening appeared on the club calander at ACC we saw an opportunity to put on a match and the BOD approved our request. Because of the short suspense we might not have all the details 100% nailed down for the event. So please be patient if we are short on some details.

COVID-19 Statement - Because of the Governors recent action on masks and other health/safety concerns we will be doing the following:

    1) No match day registrations or payment. All match registrations/payments will need to be on practice score.
    2) No meetings in the club-house: all registration sign/briefing will occur outside
    3) Observers of social distancing of six feet between everyone. Because the event is 100% outside and we are observing social distancing we will not be requiring face masks. If you want to wear a mask, and be around other people wearing a mask, squad 3 is the masking squad. The rest of the squads are masking optional squads. If the rest of the match fills up, and squad 3 is empty, we will waive the requirement that this is the designated masking squad. When registration as squad 3 please email a preference so we have an understanding on competitors intent in this squad. If that is a non-starter for individuals who want to wear a mask we will issues a refund via stripe which may take a cut on refunded match fees. The online payment process is new to us.
    4) 50 max shooters for the event. This will help us with observing social distancing and keep the match flowing.

We will all attempt to the follow the governors guidance on this and put on a safe/fun match: However, just showing up to a range you are assuming the risk of sickness/death. If you are overly concerned about getting sick our advice is to stay home. Also - if you are sick, or recently exposed to COVID-19, please stay home as well!

Match Fee: $20/ $15 to ACC Members; $3 open bolt indicators. Range officers shoot for free.

Second, weather can sometime be an issue, on days that weather is a concern please check INGunOwners - Indiana Gun Owners Community under "shooting sports" for any cancellations.
Open bolt indicators are mandatory for this match and will try to have a limited number for sale for $3. However, please bring your own if you have one. On arrival at match, please leave guns bagged until directed otherwise.
The safety briefing is MANDATORY for all shooters, miss the briefing miss the match!

Sounds like a great reason to bust out my K98 from the back of my safe!

Is it 10 per magazine still? Just curious as to how many to bring.

Yes - it is. It is the best way to force reloads and weapon manipulation without setting up a 40 round stage that someone would then bring a drum mag to run ;-) We would run out of pasters fairly fast....

    Are slings allowed or required?

They are allowed - but not required. The idea here is each stage will have a gun rack. When everyone comes to the stage they put there gun on the rack at the same time. When it is there turn to shoot the load up/shoot/clear/chamber flag/ and return the gun to the rack. When it is time to move to the next stage everyone bags/carts there gun and we repeat the process at the next bay. We found this is the fastest way to run long guns in a safe/efficient manner.

If I hadn't already told my buddy I'd go to another match, I would switch.
How often are you thinking of holding matches?

A couple times a year. We did more matches before we were hobbled with kids making planning impossible. What made this match work is the slot was already blocked off and when an event was cancelled we were able to make it work.

    All,

We are closely watching the weather for tomorrow, but at this point the match is ON! I had several people not assigned to squads in practicescore.com so I went ahead and allocated accordingly. I had to move a couple folks around to another squad to balance things out. So please review your squad placement before the match tomorrow. If you want to be placed on a different squad please let me know and I can make it happen. My intent is to balance out the squads so we can get this match in before the weather shuts us down and to make sign-in as efficient as possible so we canstart shooting!
