"All kinds of gains" in 3 months? I'd be "srs jelly" and "mirin" if someone did that.

Apparently you didn't think I was serious. I was. Not trashing when it's true, or pretty damn near.

I know you're serious. You just have zero insight into how your comments come across. It's still trashing it.

He underwent a big transformation of his physique to better portray the person he was playing.

"It was pretty brutal," Cooper told Entertainment Tonight earlier this summer. "I gained about 40 pounds. I'm about 20 down from that now. I ate 5,000 calories a day and doing whatever I could to pay homage to [Kyle]."

Did he claim to have gained 40# of muscle? This quote he sure didn't, but I haven't read all of his quotes on the subject. His intent was gaining "bulk" to better look like Kyle.

Perhaps. You actually have a quote from Cooper, which most articles don't. Cooper strikes me as a smart guy, so hopefully it was just the media taking liberties. Nevertheless, he did a dirty bulk to get to his size. That's not hating, that factual.

The leftists hate the late Mr. Kyle as a symbol of American "imperialism". Despite where he may have been born, the President spent his formative years in the third world. He views America as a bully. He and the left view the insurgents in Iraq as analogous to our founding fathers (whom they also despise, BTW). Anyone who joins the American military to fight for our "freedom" must be despised.

    It was OK.
No "Private Ryan" but it did touch on the down side of war. The things men are capable of doing to men.
The last stand kept my wife glued to the screen. Some good effects that you do not often see.

I give it a good watch.

For a guy that thinks Iraqi insurgents are akin to the founding fathers, Barry sure hasn't put the brakes on killing them.

I have seen no one claim otherwise. To point it out as "chub" and "dirty bulk" is

Is what? A member thought he put on 40lbs of muscle. I questioned the idea, and brought forth my thoughts. Others got in on the discussion, and I explained my stance. He chubbed up with a dirty bulk, how else do you want me to explain it?

I edited my comment and cut too much. you can insert "grumpy". You can't gain 40# and increase your strength that much that fast without massive effort. He's playing a role fully clothed, not entering body-building contests.

I've said my peace in a few threads. Carry on as you will, I'll stop commenting.

Okay so more of it may have been pie. Seems like the thread may have reached its conversational conclusion when the back and forth is for such a trivial issue. Or we could discuss his beard next. I think Hough would approve. Except the time when he went to the Van Dyke.

You think I'm grumpy? I'm not even 40! and grumpy starts at like 50-something. Though, I dont like people walking through my yard.

Hey, watch it. That's ageist. I became grumpy way before I passed 50. It's happening to you and you don't even realize it. It just starts with the yard. Next you'll be complaining about younger generation's lack of respect. And so on.

Beware of other changes that age and wisdom may bring:

If a man is not a socialist by the time he is 20, he has no heart. If he is not a conservative by the time he is 40, he has no brain. – Winston Churchill
