OK, i am new to this pistol optics stuff but my son and I shoot steel matches (50-feet) and he wants to put an optic onto our 1911 STI Trojan 9mm and eventually make a race gun out of it with a compensator etc.

Is there a reason to use the C-more STS2 or Slide Ride specifically?

I guess my main thought it that the Slide Ride glass looks a little larger maybe*** I plan on drilling and tapping the frame for a fixed optic mount.... thanks in advance for your input.

Ok, I read a ton this weekend, we are going with the Cheely Setback Horizontal Mount with C-More Slide Ride. Have to drill 5 holes @ 5-40 thread. GOing to have to hop onto the Bridgeport and do this to be perfect.

The Slide Ride lowers the glass center down closer to the slide and the potential for a co-witness is better, this is TBD.

The Slide Ride Glass is 5mm larger than the RTS2 glass according to the specs
