Yeah,, its a ll new to me, learning as I go, evidently the C-more can mount 90-degrees as shown using a CHeely Custom mount or the normal way with the bottom side on top of the SLide..... the 90-degree version allows for a cleaner ejection rout of the spent casing.

The sideways mount takes a bit of getting used to as it blocks some of your view to the port side. It does, however, get the dot much closer to the bore line. I haven't run into anybody that has tried that style of mount and gone back.

I've shot a couple guns set up like that, and don't care for the sight picture... much prefer the c-more set vertical.
    just a personal preference thing.

    Very interesting.
It'd be fun to try to see which feels better

This is the only C-more I own but I do like it. Getting used to it took some time as the height from bore center confused muscle memory with the 1911.
Gun base is an SA RO.

I need to credit AllenM for the great machine work on this pistol. I drove him a bit crazy with it but he came through.

I have a spare vertical mount, I think it is the same screw pattern, you can try before you buy if you want. If memory serves (which is asking a lot) screw centers are .375
