For daily driving, it's my mechanics tool box and a large bug out bag. Inside the larger bag is a quick grab survival pack. Not seen is a mounted fire extinguisher. More gear is packed and ready to be loaded in an emergency whereby the subwoofer would be thrown out the back.

New LED lights mounted on the front not seen in photo.

I forgot compass maps and GPS. There's 550 cord too plus the various tie down straps. In the winter I'll also throw a bag of softener salt and tube sand in the bed as well.

In the winter, I usually throw a sleeping bag as well as some water and food just in case I get stranded.

In the winter, you should at least have some spare warm clothes somewhere thats easily accessible. Last winter, we helped out with the snow storm, and you wouldn't believe how many people called into the EOC and said that they were stranded and didn't have any blankets or warm clothes. And this is when it was in the negative temps.

I always assume I will spend the night outside even if I go out for just a few hours during the day in the summer.
I bring warm hat and gloves and jacket even then.
