Any suggestions for a more rugged UHF/VHF portable antenna? I have a couple BaoFengs and the Nagoya NA-717 was recommended as a good replacement for the rubber duck.

The only problem is they dont seem to be very durable. I keep snagging mine and bending it severely at the base. It now has a definite angle to it even after trying to bend it back.

Any suggestions for something as good (or better) that the 717 that is thicker and more durable, like the factory antenna? (thick and rugged, but better RF) I'm afraid one of these days I'm just going to snap it clean off.

Anyone have or use one of these?

I have used https://www.ebay.com/i/231873957809?chn=ps&dispItem=1 which seems very similar and it worked fine.

Then I got one of these, which you have to be VERY aware of but works a lot betterer.
