    wagyu52,
By any chance have you listened to John Wells' show #900 with his wife?
She is from SA. First husband was murdered there. Had much to say about how their country was overthrown.

I note with interest that 30 years ago, the world rallied and pressured the South African government to eventually end Apartheid in 1991, which in principle was a great thing. Unfortunately, the current rulers of South Africa are much worse to both white and blacks alike than the government that was pilloried by the court of world opinion back then. I see no outrage or even concern on any meaningful level for the farmers and others who are being brutalized and murdered at record rates. My intuition tells me that for too many people, the opinion may be that it's just the whites getting what they deserve for decades of oppressive behavior. I disagree, but I think more importantly, once all of the white farmers are dead or driven out, the people murdering them aren't going to stop. They're just going to turn their attention the next group they can victimize without repercussion.

It's tragic, unnecessary, and apparently inevitable.

I hope as many as possible are able to relocate to Australia and other places that are willing to accept the immigration.

    Not only that^^^^^

Once they kill too many farmers, they'll lose the means of production, resulting in starvation which will further fuel the unrest. Just a matter of time.

They don't have to kill them. Taking the land and 'redistributing' it to black people who know eff all about farming will git er done. What I find amazing is Zimbabwe is their next door neighbor and THEY did that same thing, with predictable results. They turned the shining light of the African continent into a poop hole in a matter of a few years.

That's already past the tipping point, I'm afraid.

It's Zimbabwe/Rhodesia redux. A lot of people have predicted the same fate for SA for a long time, and now it's an obvious reality.

Rhodesia was once a net exporter of food. There were known as the "bread basket" of southern Africa. Not any more.

It happened just like that in the Congo when the Dutch pulled out. They walked out and all the tribes started killing and eating each other just like they did before the Dutch made them stop. Tribalism, the only form of government worse than communism/socialism.

If you want to see a dangerous, scary, evil person, watch some video footage of Julius Sello Malema. That is one truly malevolent individual.

In Leo DiCaprio’s words, “TIA”. I feel that your post is spot on, as it has happened before, and seems to be soon to happen again.

Unfortunately for Africa(northern or southern) there few success stories and the ones that are a success are fairly minor. I do agree let someone else pick up the pieces this time we have enough other irons in the fire.

Are there *any* long term success stories in sub-Saharan Africa? Seriously asking.

I suppose it depends on how you determine both long term and success. I would say that in terms of economics and exports, both South Africa and Rhodesia were successful for a long period of time compared to how quickly the names and borders of countries change on the African continent. In African geo-political time, they were long term successes.

I think since those were colonial areas dominated by Europe, Africa can't really claim those periods of economic stability as their own. Their reversion to slaughter and poverty seems to speak to that.

Liberia was a glimmer of hope it was doing OK until you guessed it tribalism destroyed it.

You know with the right “Crew” I wouldn’t mind being part of a third world government.

Well, you couldn't make it worse. But, if you made it better everyone would blame you and try to have you thrown out of power so they could take your stuff and live like :poop: again.
