Is anybody here in the Civilian Crisis Response Team? The idea looks real attractive from a training perspective. I would be curious about your experiences if you are a member, or have been a member?

CERT is "how to be safe and self sufficient in the first 72 hours after a major disaster when first responders CANT get to you." (and it has nothing to do with guns and self defense)

CERT is about staying alive and helping your neighbors get through a major disaster like a tornado or earthquake when you cant call 911 because they are busy elsewhere and just cant come because they have bigger fish to fry. It is managed by DHS and is 100% free.

I went to a MALC class and heard about it more, and the fact that the class I went to would have been included. Thinking of signing up myself and my wife, so we can both get training.
