    The US military is auctioning off 4,000,000 pounds of 4'x4' 'Quick Armor' in PA. over the next 6 months.
    These are bolt together 4'x4' square sections rated to stop .50 BMG of actual hardened armor, they have 2"x3" or 2"x4" reinforcement ribs welded to them for bolt together & strength.

    These will go for scrap weight for melt down since this metal is WAY too hard mill/drill, form or commonly cut.
    (Armor is commonly cut on a water jet or EDM, it's way too hard to mill/drill and heat resistant to cut with a torch)

    If you need wear resistance, this is wear plate on steroids...

    I tried googling it to see what looks like but seemed to find everything but the material you are talking about. do you have a link to it? It sounds like interesting stuff

    These are the 2x4 I'm interested in, but there is also 4x4 and a lot of them.

    It's the official government auction site auction.gov I think.

    I'm hooking up with the contractors disposing of this stuff since I don't need 2 to 4 million pounds at once!

    So how does that work. You got a hookup for getting that back to Indiana? Wonder how much one panel weighs?
