If the sh** hits the fan, they are ready for it | The Observers

It's an ok article, but focused on the folks who "suddenly" had an epiphany that bad times were ahead. I know a lot of the newer folks into preparedness are doing so because of that feeling, but most of us who have been survivalists most or all of our lives do it because it's a comforting way to live our lives and while we may be prepared for most disasters or problems, it's mostly because that's how we feel we should live. We were doing it as a lifestyle before the world economic downturn, and we'll be doing it long after the ecomonies recover and everyone is partying again. Survivalism (I HATE the word "prepper") is about a mindset and an attitude, not about storing away some stuff and waiting for doomsday.
