After some time away from offering classes in order to become a law enforcement officer, Train To Be Safe Academy is once again offering classes. Our new Intro Handgun series is in response to student feedback asking for more than what the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting course offers. As with all of our classes, our Intro Handgun classes are conducted in a safe, professional and friendly environment. As always, let me know of any questions.

    • What: Intro Handgun 101 and Intro Handgun 201:
      • IH-101 is for new and novice handgun owners as well as those who are in the market for a handgun. Students will learn in the classroom and on the range: the rules for gun safety, how to check for loaded/unloaded, the fundamentals of shooting including stance, grip, sighting, breathing and trigger-control plus much more. If you don't have a handgun we encourage you to NOT to purchase one before taking this class so you can learn and make an informed purchase. Several different makes/models in various calibers are available to rent.
      • IH-201 picks up where IH-101 left off with mostly range work to increase proficiency, accuracy and speed.
    • When: Saturday, June 30:
      • IH-101 from 8:00AM to 12:00 noon
      • IH-201 from 1:00PM to 5:00PM
    • Where:
    • How Much:
      • IH-101 (only): $100
      • IH-101 & IH-201 (both classes): $150
    • Who:
      • Train To Be Safe Academy: Our instructors are certified and have decades of shooting and training experience, one of which is a sworn law-enforcement officer.
