    I like the article about reloads and magazine capacity. I think it would be better if more people would take it to heart.

    In my classes, I demo a speed/proactive reload after my first demos. I explain that students should be doing such reloads and liken it to the gas tank of a vehicle: one shouldn't wait until their car shuts off because it is completely out of gas.

    After the first student iterations, I will walk them through the speed/proactive reload. I again explain that this is what they should be doing.

    Unfortunately, without constant verbal coaching through the steps of the reload, I see many students revert to a lackadaisical reload or they run their tank dry. For paying students, I offer verbal reminders. For one of our personnel, only the Lord can save you if you run a gun dry unless we are specifically practicing emergency reloads.
