This class was originally scheduled as a small private class but at the last minute we have decided to open up some more spots and include a discount for Alumni, LE/Mil, and for those referring another paying student as a "thank you " to my previous students who have attended classes in the KY/IN area. We are limiting the class to 16 students.

Surgical Pistol Skills - The most high tech weapon is worthless without solid skills to operate it to the full potential.

This class has an emphasis on technical pistol shooting where we will be placing fast and precise hits out to 25 yards and even farther. This class will teach you how to efficiently and effectively shoot in a combative setting with a high degree of skill with both fight stopping precision while minimizing danger to bystanders and non involved parties. Taking your shooting to the next level, it is all about grip, sights and trigger finger education, speeding up your draw presentation and clearing out the mental clutter that keeps you from being the shooter you can be. The class will also spend a significant amount of time addressing the emerging pistol technologies that are growing in popularity.

Required Equipment - Pistol and at least 3 magazines, carry gear, Eye and Ear Protection. Ammo Count 600 Rounds. *RDS equipped pistols are allowed and encouraged.

Pricing will be a special rate of $300 with a $50 discount for alumni / Law Enforcement/ Military. Discounts also given for those that refer another registered student. So if you have trained with me before, are LE or Mil or you bring a friend with you then your price is $250.

Instructor: Randy Harris is a highly-accomplished civilian firearms trainer with over 20 years’ experience in the field. He holds instructor certifications from Rangemaster, Suarez International, the National Rifle Association, and the State of Tennessee. He has participated in the National Tactical Invitational and is a multi-time presenter at the Rangemaster Tactical Conference. Randy is an IDPA Master Class shooter in five divisions, and he is one of only four people to hold both the Red Pin from the Rogers Shooting School and a Turbo Pin from Gabe White's Pistol Shooting Solutions class.

FYI to those Canadians who may want to attend this: Aug 3-4 in Leavenworth, Indiana will quite possibly be some of the worst heat and humidity that you'll ever encounter. Be prepared for it.

    Well, after that A.D.D. derailment......

The biggest benefit of this class should be for Red Dot pistol users. Many people put them together, very few actually take training to run them efficiently. Usually theres countless sessions of trial & error, lots of wasted rounds, and several bad habits that are developed.

Getting training like this is much cheaper in the long run.

Is this a red dot class strictly or are iron sights welcome also?

Also can you say more about content? Interested in the clearing of the mental cobwebs or whatever your term was upthread.

Coach, It is definitely both Red Dot and Iron Sight friendly.

Mental clutter is what we will be clearing out. The inner mental turmoil with regards to performance that we all struggle with to some degree or another. I'm going to not only mold and shape the physical but the mental also. In a nutshell this class is "building a better shooter". We will be cleaning up (and speeding up) drawstroke, fixing grip, finding the sights (or dot) quicker, smoothing out trigger press, and correcting sight alignment (and accepting what is "good enough" when "good enough" is actually "good enough") and building neural pathways with positive reps, and rewiring what your brain thinks is an acceptable performance for you. But instead of just applying that to bullseye targets or IDPA/IPSC targets in a competitive/match setting like we are shooting match stages we will be applying it more realistic looking adversarial targets and to SMALL targets and FAR targets...and some small far targets under time constraints in a combative manner. And we will be doing this with an eye toward bystanders and non combatants who might be down range. Think plate rack with bystanders with a penalty for misses....

This is not a basic level class. It is not really a class for the 1st time pistol student. But if he/she already has a FIRM grasp of fundamentals and safe gunhandling (and it doesn't hurt if they have some competitive shooting experience) and an open mind and are willing to listen they will be fine. As we said earlier , this class came about out of discussions about a desire for a private class that some people in last year's CRG2 in Charlestown IN were wanting with an emphasis on precision shooting at speed for guys whose down range backstop behind their intended target might be a car...or a house....or citizens walking their dog...

That is the background for the class. We'd love to have you if you can join us and like last time it will likely expand your thinking but hopefully not cause too much inner mental turmoil:D.
