I’m heading out Thursday to South Dakota to teach an advanced law enforcement firearms instructor course, so we’re putting the newsletter out a few days early. There are a couple of articles on historical subjects, including one on the S&W Model 12, my favorite snubby revolver.

The DOTM; Gunsite Pistol Standards was tougher than it read. Passed it with my USPSA C.O. gear, but threw two rounds out of the circle with my EDC gear. One at 15 and one at 25. This came from going faster than I needed to at those distances. The times up close are very challenging so if you don't force yourself to take the time you need to at the longer distances you can mess up. This is something Tom goes over extensively in class, so I have no excuse. Not sure I understand the logic of giving you the same time for two body shots at 3 yards that you get at 7?
