Large increase in females with LTCH, not only buying guns but getting training. Gun owners are a big tent, not just old dudes with beards.

Question, how do you know how many females are buying guns?

Well, it's according to surveys done by the NRA and the NSSF
    https://reason.com/blog/2016/09/23/gun-gender-gap-shrinking
Girls Just Wanna Have Guns: Women Gun Ownership On The Rise - Future Female Leaders

But some consider the NRA and NSSF biased, and have their own poll showing that it isn't happening.
    https://www.thetrace.org/2016/03/female-gun-ownership-debunked/

But "the Trace" is a dedicated anti-gun organization set up by Bloomberg himself.
    So, it's kinda a wash.

My opinion, I see more women at the range than I used to. But, that's "anecdotal".

I did some quick research and found the following:

2018 Q2 population based on estimate

I believe this disagrees with some the stats from the Crime Prevention Research Center (Dr. John R. Lott), I recall his current % for Indiana LTCH was around 17%. The Indiana State Police numbers were from the 1st of the year, in other works the total active permits for 2017 was calculated on January 1st, 2018. The yearly population totals are all estimates for July 1st of the stated year. My gut tells me this does not account for the difference from 13% to 17%.

Sorry for the alignments, best I could do.

Well my post of a table of numbers looks like crap. I think my significant numbers show percentage of people having LTCH permits is increasing, I went back to 2014 and the number of males and females getting permits is increasing compared to population. The difference in percentages show males are getting more compared to the total than females, but they are both increasing. 2016 was a banner year with twice as many people getting a permit compared to other years. I believe this was a national trend when people thought Hillary would win. 2017 and 2018 numbers dropped back down. To restate of our estimated 6.7 million residents, almost 870,000 have permits, 632,000 are males and 238,000 are females, so about 13% of our residents have a permit, better than 1 out of 10.

All I can add is my wife and a gaggle of other women are shooting at Point Blank right now. Most, if not all, of them carry all the time and they are not carrying their husband's guns. The Well Armed Woman organization is growing nation wide.

My wife owns a Beretta but I'm pretty sure she keeps it locked up. I'm away from home a lot and have encouraged her to maintain a state of readiness, but I don't think it has taken hold. We also keep a shotgun in a Mossberg Loc-Box...

She also took her training run by a lady with a Women-only course, which I thought was pretty cool.

That is a good question. I know a large number of females that shoot and they run Hubby's guns but I consider them well armed gun owners. They do not really show up on any statistic that I am aware of.

Hum, you will have to introduce me to someone who has that arrangement. The hubs could use some nudging. He won't let me touch his, so I have to go out and get my own...and then he wants to run mine...smh...
