Earlier tonight we were in a store that had tons of "back to school" stuff on "sale".
I was looking around and saw plastic pencil boxes for fifty cents.
I had an idea of what I wanted to use it for,
and if it didn't work I'd only be out fifty cents.
You see, earlier this week when I was pulling a little box
of Federal Champs out of my range bag,
the opposite side of the box came undone and they spilled all over.
"Little" doesn't seem so "little" when you're chasing 50 .22
cartridges into corners to pick them up!
I figured if I carried them inside a pencil box,
even if they spilled, they'd still be in that one box.
I brought it home and found out that the boxes of ammo
will stack double and the lid shuts just touching them...
enough to hold them in place even when it's standing on end.
It's so compact, it hardly takes up any space in the range bag
and it's gonna be a good way to have whatever ammo
I want next right at hand!

Is that a Savage Mark-II rifle magazine I see in that first picture?

    I LOVE mine. ;)

I saw that and almost commented..:): Ive got a Boyds thumbhole for my MKII BVto replace the regular stock, just waiting for some parts to arrive from Savage now that they are done with a 2+ week vacation..:rolleyesedit:

Awesome idea with the pencil boxes btw.. cant beat the price.. last time I went "out" shooting I lost a box of subs in the trunk of my car, found most of them... I'll be getting some to store some ammo for sure, just not pink..;)

Yep. Good eye! It's my daughter's first rifle. It's only been with us one week today, but since she went to camp the day after we picked it up...she's only had the chance to shoot it once.
I took it to the range and zeroed the scope for her and I'm hoping she wants to go shooting tomorrow after I take her to see "Journey to the Center of the Earth". :yesway:

What a great Mom to volunteer to go shooting...The sacrifices we parents make! But, <Nerfspeak> after all, it's for the children!</Nerfspeak>

And yeah, I've been waiting to use that, Annie. :lmfao:

    Blessings,

Nice find, Annie! *wakes Lars up and drags him off for breakfast and "back-to-school" shopping* You know.. I bet those folders would hold my little paper targets nicely, too...

They're actually not wide enough. But those expandable folders are awesome for it! Plus, they're stiff enough to get smooshed around in a range bag and still keep the targets from getting wrinkled or curled at the edges.
I have one like this but a tad smaller:
