I must have a Glock handgun.Simple as that. Where are all the great deals that I 've heard people talking about though? Some folks I know have picked them up for around the $350 range, whether it be private sales, police trade ins, or gun store specials, but it seems I can't find one for under $450 anywhere :dunno: I'd more than likely want a g22 or 20, but would really entertain about any of the non compact models. 17 or 19 would be cheap to shoot, but the larger caliber guns are always fun. So anybody got any hot leads for me? recommendations? Anybody ever got any of these killer deals? It will be for target and EDC. Thanks everybody!

I got one of those good deals a few months ago. I got a lightly used Gen 3 G17 for $350. Found it in a classified at at armslist.com. Keep an eye on the classifieds.

I bought a NIB Glock 33 with Olive Drab frame for $399 including shipping from Bud's. They had all sizes of Glocks in .45 GAP for around $350-375 NIB. I don't know what they have now, but Glock discontinued the .45GAP and the Olive Drab frames hence the price reductions.

They also sell to military. I'm inactive reserve and was eligible for the discount. I picked up a new Gen 4 Glock 19 there last week with Trijicon night sights for 477, but you could get a stock one for $398. Those prices are good for any Glock model Gen 3 and up, excluding "c" variants btw. Otherwise talk to any L.E. friends you have. I was able to purchase a Glock 22 from my friend who happens to be a Sheriff for $350 last year.

$500 new is the average price depending on location.

I would never pay more than $400 used with night sights.

There are a couple in the Classified section here. You could ask Bob out at PSS in Plainfield or Bradis down in Camby. I think the prices on the 19s might go up a bit since it's in the spotlight right now though. I have a 20, 29 and 33, I like odd calibers, and they all shoot pretty well.

With at least 5 State Police agencies using 45 GAP pistols (FL and NY being two that I can think of off the top of my head) I seriously doubt that the 45 GAP has been discontinued but they have stopped making the OD frame for the civilian market.
Having said that OL Bob at Plainfield Shooting supplies always has great prices on new (and used if he has them) Glocks.

I understand that everybody wants a great deal on their guns but $500 or $550 is a good price for a Glock in the US IMO.I dont care if I dont get the best deal I still get a Glock.
I guess most of you are not aware of prices in other countries and you should feel lucky of what we can pay in the US.
In France for a new Glock 19 I would have to pay around 700 Euros ($930!), sometimes more.On top of that I would need to pay a couple hundreds more to get a purchase licence and wait about six to twelve months to get it.
And the end its about twice the price of the gun in the US.
So when I buy a gun in the US for just about $500 or even more and it only takes 5 minutes I feel like a made a good deal.

Wouldn't that be a straw purchase if you ask a LEO to buy a new gun for you even if you could legally buy that gun?

It looks like the LEO discount would be a service who makes it illegal.

"A straw purchase is any purchase whereby the purchaser is knowingly acquiring an item or service for someone who is, for whatever reason, unable to purchase the item or service themselves"

Not saying that you shouldn't ask a LEO friend if you can get a good price, just wondering if its legal. :dunno:
