Many people on here hate eBay but last month I won a new 1490 pelican laptop case for less than half of what it retails for. You just have to watch, be patient and using a system like esnipe helps. I have gotten some really good deals off eBay, but it takes time to find those good deals.

If I'm not mistaken, Pelican has a distribution center in Indianapolis. I think they will allow you to buy directly from them.

I'm basing this on a fuzzy memory of this being discussed before on here. I've never dealt with them, but I'm almost positive somebody said that they will sell to you...

ETA, on their website they call it a "Case Center" which implies they sell cases there. It is located in Greenfield according to that as well, but I thought it was in Indianapolis...

What I have always wanted to know is how do you cut the foam to perfectly fit your rifle, pistol....other accessories? We have all seen that guy with his rifle, pistol, suppressor, knives, tomahawks, tin foil hat and other stuff perfectly fitted in a pelican case. How do you do that...maybe magic?

I use blue guns or some of my solid aluminum guns (for making holsters) to cut around. No sense nicking up real guns. I put enough nicks on my own.:D

However, I think practice is the best teacher.

Actually if you click the box for the 1750 with foam from Opticsplanet, the price is $203.99. The amazon prize was $191.74 and it says that the 3 piece foam set is included. Both have free shipping
Didn't notice that. Thanks for mentioning it.

I cant remember exactly where but I saw they recommend using an electric knife for cutting the foam.

The location is actually in Mt. Comfort on 600 West (Mt. Comfort Rd) across from Mt. Comfort Airport. They produce the cases there and ship them out, but do not sell them. I stopped in and was advised to contact their sales division to purchase cases.

Last I knew Pelican has a foam insert option called "pick and pluck" where you can pull out small squares of perforated foam so you don't have to cut with a hot wire, water jet or other type.

From what I remember most of the foam for these type cases are of the type that will develope a memory and gaps open up allwoing your weapon, optic, etc to move around. May not be a big deal to some but it can happen.

There is also a way to custom mold a liner for a case such as this with spray foam and the right setup, your optics won't feel a thing.. Anyone wanting to know how to accomplish this without making a mess just let me know.

Picked up this new 1200 case the other day for $34 shipped. First time buyer of any pelican products and it will not be my last. Couldnt beat $34 shipped, everyone else wanted $50 including the pelican site.
