Anyone who frequents Indiana Live Casino carry there? I didn't see any rules on their website so I called and talked to a security guy there earlier and he stated they will store the weapon for you but it has to be unloaded when it is brought in:rolleyes:.
I know Indiana has code that states you can not carry in the river boats, but this place is not a river boat.
Do they have metal detectors or any other security measures that would prohibit a well concealed pistol or knife from getting into the casino?

    Way up North
never been to that casino, but Four Winds (a brand new casino up north here) and Blue Chip do not do any type of check other than ID when you come in.
there is usually one security guy standing in the middle of a pretty big hallway checking ID's as you walk in and that is it.
I carry at my local casinos and it has never been an issue. I prefer to just carry an LCP to the casino, so I have never had anyone notice.

Indiana live does not have metal detectors nor have I ever seen anyone patted down. I also have only been there a couple times. There is always the "Oh Sorry my first time here".

At the Hoosier Park Racing & Casino entrance, there is a sign that states no firearms permitted.
They can make whatever signs they want, but that don't mean I'll be following their rules:D...looks like from other posts as long as I keep it covered up I wont have any problems

I play a lot of poker at Indy Live and I always carry. I have always carried concealed there but I did have a guy comment on my muzzle end sticking out once. It turned into a short but positive conversation at the table. Everybody sitting there agreed that it was a good idea to carry there. I have walked out of there on many nights with a substantial amount of cash and would not want to be without a firearm.

We go to Live frequently and just leave the guns at home. I have no intention to buck their rules but.............DO NOT LEAVE A GUN IN YOUR VEHICLE IN THE GARAGE! I'm told they've had a lot of thefts from vehicles there.

If I remember correctly they had a few people recently convicted of robbing Indy Live patrons while they were walking back to thier cars. A pistol in the car isn't worth anything in a situation like that. Well maybe to the thieves it is. I will always carry there. If you are worried about breaking thier rules you can always have casino security lock your firearm up for you until you leave. That is just not the option I choose.

Yea, when I talked to their security over the phone they said you had to unload the gun in the car because they only store empty guns...retarded...
I just kept my primary in a lockbox under the seat (tethered to the seat) and pocket carried a j-frame. That worked out fine. If I go again I'll probably just carry as usual.

I know the one in Anderson has some huge sign, that said youll get prosecuted and some other stuff. Was reading and walking.

At Live i asked the security at the door and he said no guns.
But as you all have said there are no signs. And really they cannot detain you only ask you to leave. As well as no metal detectors nor do they pat you down only ask for ID if you look younger than 40 i believe.

Could we get one of the sites legal eagles to make a call on this? I am considering a trip there soon just as a get away for me and my lady.
I don't know the Indiana Code, but I do know it is illegal to carry on the riverboat casino's. Indiana Live isn't a riverboat casino, so it would be like any other private business...It is not illegal to carry there, but if they tell you to leave you have to or they can get you for trespassing.
So just CC well enough to keep everything covered up and you're good to go.

Do not assume that because it's clearly not a boat, that it's therefore not a "riverboat"

    See post 14
haha, damn...the stupidity of some laws will never cease to amaze me. Im guessing if you call Indiana Live they would be able to tell you if they are a riverboat or not...I just may do that at some point and post it up here.

Neither Indiana Live nor Hoosier Park are considered riverboat casinos. They're "race-inos" because of the tracks. Indiana used to have a law that only allowed gambling on riverboats, which is why French Lick is considered a riverboat, even though there's only a pond next to it. The law was changed to allow for the race tracks to expand into casinos, so they don't fall under the riverboat category.

Isn't Blue Chip considered a riverboat? I thought that was the whole reason they could get around the laws and they have real dealers and such. Just wondered I live between LaPorte and Michigan City and go to those casinos often, just been scared to carry to Blue Chip.
