Well what a day I had yesterday. Been working a bunch so decided to shoot my new bow I just got setup at Outdoorsman.

Hadn't shot the bow yet or the new NAP Apache arrow rest. Switched from whisker biscuit I had on my old bow.

20 yards, shot a new easton excel 400 arrows to see how it would fly. A little left of center. Let a gold tip xt hunter go, I heard it hit the easton. I was pumped...validated my move from biscuit. I rarely ever got within 1 inche from another arrow. Let the third fly and again I heard contact.

Imagine my enjoyment when i get to the block and see one sticking right out of the other. The last arrow appears to have went right in the middle. It traveled about 8-9 inches abd blew out the side of the other gold tip. Talk about some tough arrows.

I am pretty pumped about it. I love the Apache rest. Very easy to use. Not a bad way to validate my new bow to my wife from the first 3 shots.

    very nice!

I still shoot a biscuit, but that's some pretty sweet testimony!

The biscuit was so simple i hated to switch but glad i did. I called NAP after I got my bow back and asked how much one of the little rubber shelf arrow holders would cost. Sent me one for free. It made a big difference. The arrow doesn't slide at all when in the down position before I draw. I don't spot and stalk so for me my only issues was the arrow sliding across the shelf in the stand if I needed to lean to one side in a shooting lane.

my groups really have improved a bunch.

I have done that before...once. At first I was so proud of myself, then It dawned on me that I had just trashed one of my arrows. Back then I was in school so I was broke all the time, so I was a little pissed about being out an arrow.

I still have that arrow, because I thought my chances of doing that again were slim to none. So far I have yet to repeat it. :D

My dad's done it a few times, the first time was really cool, after that he just gets annoyed he has to replace arrows, or glue on new nocks...

I never shot regularly enough to have done it...

I fondly remember my first RH'd arrow. I was 16yrs old and it was the 12th arrow I shot from a brand new Pearson Renegade bow at Vans Archery.

Initially, I thought it was cool to do it on a regular basis, then economics kicked in. I later would only shoot 1 arrow per bullseye. Back then in my late teens and early twentys, I shot 3-4 times a week. It was my form of stress relief.

I have three of those in the corner of my garage that were done several years ago now. The first one was really neat. The second was kinda neat. The third was aw- crap. Congratulations on your really neat one. It goes down hill from here. :):

Not to rain on your parade (well, maybe a little ;)) but is it really "good shooting" if you missed the target you were aiming at? Twice? :dunno:

    :D

It's good that your groups seemed to tighten up with your new setup.

It might not have been the new arrow rest though. I went from a biscuit to a fall-away & really didn't notice an improvement in performance. I thought I would have seen a big difference in arrow speed at least. Nope. Only 2-3 fps.
