My Colt, Kimber, and RIA have a brief yet meaningful conversation with me every day. We are the best.....

I can't wait to purchase my first 1911.... your probably asking why don't you have one already?..... a little too expensive for me right now and I won't spend money on a Llama..... I've been looking into the RIAs and Springfield 1911s and maybe one day I will be able to afford a Kimber Raptor or a Para Ordnance Warthog....... any other 1911s I'm not thinking of??? Other than Colt <--- best 1911s obv

My personal $.02: A proper 1911, being the quintessential American firearm, should be American made. SO I could never buy a RIA, Springer (frame made by Imbel in Brazil), or Para (Canadian). In my mind (and YMMV of course), it's like an US flag made in China; it's just wrong!

Colt makes a nice 1911, as does Kimber (stay away from the blasphemous external extractor models though!) in the more reasonable price range.

One day, when I start making real money, I'll get a Brown/Baer/Wilson/Nighthawk.

I have never owned a 1911, but my plan is to buy a RIA in the next few months. It is all I can afford at this point. When I can afford too I will buy a Colt.

A springer ultra compact was my first pistol, and I wouldnt have it any other way. I have since added a full size to the collection. They are wonderful pistols, and easy to shoot. The only problem with them is that my wife loves them as much as I do, so there will likely be a few more added to the collection in the next few years.
