You couldn't pay me enough to use one of those paths!! It's like begging the bad guys to beat/rob you when you use them.
Here's hoping some of the users will be armed come July! It wont stop it all, but it could substantially reduce this sort of thing.

One week from now they may want to think twice before they do something like that again!

this is Indianapolis and Carmel we are talking about. I bet that probably 90+% of the people on the monon will be unarmed. To my knowledge pepper spray has always been allowed on the monon and you never hear about anyone having it when they are attacked. But I hope I am wrong.

July 1, 2011 can't get here soon enough.

July 1, 2011 headline will read ,"Two men shot while attempting to rob a man at gunpoint."

I wonder if there will be an influx of people that use the Monon because they are allowed to carry?

Good set of comments there. Seems to be a trend here, with this story and the one yesterday about the new law. The Anti's come along and give us some emotional BS and sometimes laced with inaccuracies about the facts...then we don't hear from them again as soon as they are corrected. It would be funny if it wasn't so dang sad.

Question: does the new law cover all parks in the state (Carmel)? Or just Indy parks?

    :hijack:
This is what i am wondering. There is a "river preserve" around my area that says no firearms are allowed. Does that change 7/1? It's called Bainertown and is a count park. Just wonderingif the State law is over the local one...

Come July 1, State Preemption takes effect. In a nutshell, only the STATE can regulate where/how a handgun is carried. Local/town/county/etc ordinances are invalidated.

Hit the other threads on here for the real scoop, rather than my Cliff Notes version.

re: Bainertow - Looks like that is currently owned/operated by Elkhart County Parks. As a local government, their ordinances/rules would be invalidated under this new law.

Or, as suggested by the Illinois State Police, you can vomit on your attacker. :puke:
Sexual Assault - If You Are Confronted...

This pisses me off. It is unbelievable and unacceptable that a POLICE DEPARTMENT would actually tell people that are being assaulted or raped to VOMIT. No, thanks, I'll just shoot. I hate Illinois. I hate them so much. Right up there with California. Idiots...

Good job star! They dug deep to find the name, color, and breed of one of the three fleeing individuals after the attack. Shame they didn't give the race and physical desciption of the actual attackers still on the loose though!

Yep - we know what the dog looks like, but not the thugs. Typical of the Liberal star. It's not PC to tell us the thugs are black.

Sexual Assault - If You Are Confronted...

I suggest that the police in Illinois all turn in their guns and just use everyday common items like:

    • nail file
    • rat tail comb
    • teasing brush
    • pens and pencils
    • keys
    • anything rigid
or god forbid just vomit on their attackers.

If it's good enough for us then it's good enough for them.
