So I've been looking at paddle holsters for my Glock 30 45ACP and the 3 that I have narrowed it down to are: Fobus, Serpa Blackhawk, and iTAC...... Please if you have any experience with any of these paddle holsters or know of another brand of paddle holsters that are along the same lines as the 3 listed above please list the brand name and why you like them...... THANKS!!!

P.S. I've been seriously considering the iTAC Defense

The Fobus. I do not like holster where you have to "just press this lever" (under stress) and the gun comes right out. Plus, the Fobus is the only one that is even remotely serviceable if you have to draw with your weak hand.

In the interests of full disclosure, I do not like paddle holsters. If I wanted carry a gun that far away from my body, I would have become a cop.

OMG! AN EVIL SERPA HOLSTER ON THE LIST!!! NO!!!!!
In all seriousness, I actually prefer the safariland paddle holster with ALS(automatic locking system) because this is what I use at work. I like to keep my holsters the same for work and off duty as this keeps my muscle memory similar. You will probably hear a lot of Serpa bashing as they have been taking a lot of heat lately on this site. Whatever you choose, train, train, train and train some more. Good luck with your choice and let us know your decision and why.

Agreed. Lately the Serpa has been getting no love. Do you need something with retention? I have to have level 2 for work and chose the Serpa, I have not had any issues and use it for IDPA also. If you do not need retention just get a Fobus you can't go wrong.

I voted for the Serpa. That is what I use for my G27 when I do not carry IWB and I really enjoy it. I have a couple Fobus holsters for other guns and I really do not like them at all. I do not have any personal experience with the iTAC so I cannot give an opinion there.

The thing I do not like about the Fobus is that it takes a perfect stroke to get it to draw smooth. Too soft of a pull and it doesn't want to come right out and too hard of a pull and I have had it happen to me and seen it happen to others where the holster comes out with the gun, no good. This is just my personal experience with them and I did practice drawing with them quite often, they just had the worst draw of any holster I have ever used and I do not need that in the chance I ever really need it. I do however know many people that are happy with their Fobus holsters.
Good luck with your decision. :ingo:

All those holsters are CRAP. Get a Safariland. It's way better, not much more money. And way better quality.

By the way, I do not own one, but I do want one.

I've got Fobus holsters for 2 of my guns (Sigma, 5906), but the one I really use is a Safariland customfit (1911, Browning HP). The Uncle Mikes paddle holsters also work well and are super cheap (Glock, 1911)!

Fobus are nice because of the price. I own a Fobus for every pistol I own. Right now I am really liking my Desantis paddle holster. The leather is quite a bit more attractive than any plastic or kydex, and isnt nearly as hard on my car's leather seats. It also carries the weight a bit better.

I voted for the Fobus, not because it's a great holster but because it is simple, and effective for it's intended purpose. I typically have one of these for each of my handguns. The Serpa isn't bad either but has been getting trashed on the internet sites lately (not just this one). It kind of reminds me of the Glock .40 KB craze that went on a few years ago. A couple of stories surface and suddenly everyone's "best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw...." - you get the picture.

I voted for the blackhawk. I carry my glock 22 in one every day. I can see the "under stress" arguement but I am not overly experienced and can draw quickly with it. The button/lever works well for me as it is in just the right spot for me.

I can't answer that poll...I don't like paddle holsters. Give me a good forward tilt leather holster any day.

Serpa!!!! I've had many Fobus holsters because I keep thinking the next one will be better. It never is. Most of the Fobus holsters I have had for Glocks are an absolute nightmare to draw (they are wayyyyy too tight). I have also noticed a lot of slide wear on my weapons that have seen a Fobus holster.

I have the Serpa.......I have a good leather pancake holster on order...and I will be replacing it with that...the Serpa may become the holster for my car carry option....

Judging by all of the votes most if not all of you are not familiar with any of iTAC Defense's products....... I was introduced to them a couple years back but put them out of my mind after a couple weeks..... now since I took my last trip to the local gun shop I have been seriously considering some of their products...... If any of you are interested in checking out what they have in stock here is their website.......... iTAC DEFENSE Home

I've got a serpa for my m&p and love it. With the size of my hands it puts my finger right where it needs to be hit the lock when I go to draw.

I said the serpa which I have for my xd45 & my glock 27. but I use the belt attachment that they come with not the paddle. After watching how easily a paddle will snap off with not a hole lot of pressure I was sold on not using the paddles ever again.

I bought a fobus as my first holster and I absolutely hated it.

I really like Serpa's & really dislike Fobus.

I could get into the reasons but why but I'm getting ready to jump in the hot-tub so my time is limited.

Anyway I've never owned an iTAC Defense holster so I really can't comment on those.
