Im sure that pistol on the purse was a big threat.

The TSA has been getting out of control for quite awhile now, and I personally think that all of us as a whole need to step up and put our foot down. I dont mind not being able to carry a gun on a plane, but come on, have some commonsense. A 4 year old could tell that thats not a real gun, hell its stuck to a purse.

"step up and put our foot down" ?

I see this quote a lot on INGO and elsewhere and appreciate the sentiment but that's all it is.

Until a large portion of the population wakes-up (at the same time) nothing is going to change for the better. We will just keep taking it in the ass by yet another alphabet angency until one day we can't take it anymore. I will probably be too old or dead by then and that makes me sad.

    Now, back to my coffee.

I do mind that I (or we as a whole) cannot carry on a plane or at several other places. we are not 'criminal minded' we have proven that we are legally able to carry a firearm...so it should not be regulated to when or where. there are criminals that know of the 'no carry zones' that make honest persons easily open to being thier next victims. (i.e. monon trail, city parks, malls)

I have proven that I should be permitted to carry my sidearm by the state of indiana and i should be able to do that at any place/time within the united states...just as i am entitled to drive in any state of the union.

persons like myself and others here at INGO are responsible gun owners not reckless gun owners...as long as we are responsible in our ways and means everyone should back off...besides just like gun laws are for criminals(illegal poss. of handgun/fireman,etc,etc)...irresponsible legal gun owners who cross the line have rules too...this is why it says if you are no longer a proper person your permit/license may be revoked.

the state of indiana says i can legally drive a car.
the state of indiana says i can legally carry a handgun.
the tsa or any other establishment should not censor my rights.

I wouldn't hold out too much hope for that even with the people that preach it daily. Honestly don't see many waking up or getting to the point enough is enough. The majority are just fine floating through life with some pet causes that are almost always just distractions.

I don't know guys, have any of you been whopped upside the head with a fully loaded purse?? It ain't a good feeling. The time it happened to me it was just a little carbine, you know one of those little things they carry for a night on the town. If it had been a ma deuce or more commonly known as a diaper bag I could have been permanently injured or even killed. So I for one, Salute you TSA, this buds for you!!!!! :patriot:

Stay out of womens restrooms and that won't happen as often.:D

The whole TSA needs to be dismantled. If everyone is this country would refuse to fly for just one day the airlines would get it shut down immediately. Unless we profile Muslim looking people then "jihadists" will be able to board planes any time they want. I have not flown commercial since pre 9/11 and will not until this nonsense is over.

No dumber than the Ohio School principal that suspended a Jr High boy for bringing photographs of the skeet shooting tournament that he attended with his father. The boy actually won some prize at this legally sanctioned event. The Principal sited the "no tolerance" policy. I guess the woman was too ignorant and thought the policy entitled her to "no common sense". I actually donated money to help the parents legal defense on that one.

The boy that is spending time with his father enjoying legal competition WILL NOT be the one who joins a gang and kills people at school.

A combination of multitudinous, contradictory regulations and no room allowed for common sense.

We flew to NYC just before Thanksgiving. Apparently the Indianapolis Airport (IND) security isn't using a metal detector anymore; they have some sort of ultrasound scanner which keys into dense objects. So instead of being able to walk through security because I didn't have any metal anywhere on my person, I had to submit to a patdown (very professionally done to both me and my wife, BTW) because the machine keyed into the nylon belt buckle and nylon clasps on my suspenders. As we were getting ourselves back together and moving to our terminal, we saw an elderly caucasian couple about 80 years old, and looking very frail, going through the same patdown. The poor guy could barely stand by himself, much less stand upright with his arms out to be frisked. We just shook our heads at the stupidity of the whole thing.

On the way back, at Newark (EWR I think), for the first time since enhanced security measures have been put in place at airports, I passed through security with no questions and no beeping. Probably not a repeatable occurance. I STILL hate flying commercial.

Isn't the sole reason for the second amendment to defend ourselves from tyranny? Wonder if it will ever come to that or if we'll just let them take it away, instead. The fact that the TSA has been around this long does not give me much hope.

I agree with you, I get so exhausted listening to people's long winded arguments for gay marriage or abortion crap and I just can't take it. Even the folks who go on and on about 2A rights. It drives me up a wall that we even bother discussing this crap when we are faced with the problem of this huge, and growing, government.

It just feels like we're covered with a cancer, and until we clean up the world of politics, and turn all that back into an extra civic duty, not a lucrative form of employment, none of those other problems should matter. We're a country founded on letting the people make the decisions, the problem is people in a government will at some point get greedy, it's human nature, that is WHY we have the 2A, to fix that periodically.

I don't believe the government reflects the wants and needs of the people anymore, in fact, commonly we no longer consider 'the government' AS 'the people'. So until we do, why are we going to them for answers to our problems?

TSA is nothing but the Genesis of a police state in our republic.... the beginnings of our own version of the brownshirts.

TSA has yet to demonstrate a single terrorist attack they have thwarted, but they have been very successful in trashing our individual liberties, feeling up men and women of all ages, and molesting children.... and the sheep stand by silently.

Let me tell you a story. I flew from Indy to Orlando 2 weeks ago. I had a cast on my right hand. At Indy, they had me step aside and ran a paper over my cast and put it into a machine to check for explosive residue. No problem and only took about a minute extra.

Coming back was a whole different story. I figured it was going to be the same thing again. I was pulled aside, paper thing run over my cast and put in the machine. Then the TSA guy says "I need to go get my supervisor. Wait right there and do not move". When I asked if everything was okay, he said "do not move. stay there". Of course, I asked if there was something wrong. He repeats "I need you to remain calm and stay right there".

He goes to get his supervisor and of course now my family is looking at me wondering what is going on. No one will tell me. He comes back with his supervisor and now both of them say "Come with us" and they start escorting me away. Now several travelers are staring at me being escorted by 2 TSA agents. They take me to this booth where I am told to wait and they go get another TSA agent. I have no idea what's going on at this point.

Third guy comes in and says they need to do some x-rays on the cast. FOUR X-RAYS! My doctor that has been treating me for the broken hand only does two. So now I have been exposed to X-rays from the body scanner, plus 4 other X-rays of my cast. Then I'm told it looks fine and I am released.

I understand that someone might hide something in a cast and figured that I might need a little extra screening (at least no one molested me!). But not being told what was going on and told to "remain calm" when all I was asking was if something was wrong in a normal voice stuck me as a power trip that I was pretty upset about. At least criminals are told what they are being arrested for and I hadn't even done anything wrong!

I don't like the direction things are going with all this. Just wanted to share my story.
