I'm not certain of your meaning. Are you saying that kilts are only tartan based and must be Great Kilt or Walking Kilt, or are you saying that kilts aren't solid colors?

I beg to differ on any of that. Solid color kilts are not new. Modern Great Kilts or Walking Kilts are not the only type to be considered kilts.

Or are you speaking of the OP 5.11 tactical kilts not being kilts?

I'm talking about all those kewl "new wave" "guy's wear" pseudo kilts. I'm well aware of plain fabric kilts. If it has funky pockets, irregular pleating, studs, or is leather, it's not a kilt. IMHO. Sorry, but that's my purist take on it.

I am sorry but is there any reason for a "tactical kilt". Is it just something new for you to spend money on. I really don't think the wind blowing around my skirt sounds tactical. The video was nice but it appeared that the person was in good shape and could have done the same thing with a pair of shorts on.

I'd have to say that even what might be considered a "traditional" kilt now is nothing more than an evolution of kilts. If you read through the history I provided, sewn pleats and family specific tartans haven't been popular but for a couple hundred years, and started because of the military. Prior, there were no sewn pleats. The belted plaid was just gathered up (bunched up) around the waist and was folded irregularly around the body.

I'd say that current trends (Utilikilts, Sport Kilts, et. al.) designs and tailoring are no more shocking or out of place than pleated, sewn-to-the-pattern kilts were when they became popular among the kilted. Studs are no more accessorizing than kilt pins and the like. The "studs" on a Utilikilt are actually snaps that hold it closed, so they serve a purpose.

I'm not saying that your opinion is wrong. I do enjoy the evolution of the design personally. Similar to the OC/CC argument, I don't care how you're kilted, so long as you're kilted.

I think anything marketed as tactical is pretty gay. That said, unless it was the absolute dead of winter and I had to live in the woods for a long time, I would wear a kilt and not pants. Comfort, flexibility, and your cubes do not get all sweaty leading to crotch rot.- George

Taxtical kilt, failed. I don't thank that there is much that a normal person can do as compared in the video. Jumping from roof to roof is a pretty poor way to advertise your product.

you don't regularly jump from roof to room during your daily jogs or commute to work?

See he can do it in a pair of pants and not a skirt. I am just amazed why he can't just run around the objects.

It's those kids that take everything literally these days.

"The shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line" Doesn't matter if he's got to scale a wall and backflip 15' down afterwards.
