I've seen the jeeping thread, curious if any of you INGO'ers ride ATV's?

Seems like I've had one kind or another since I was twenty something and used to ride alot up in Michigan at Silver Lake when I was more into sport quads...I had a pretty hot Banshee back then.

Later I traded the Banshee off for a less "hot" 4 stroke so I could enjoy riding with my son on his 90CC starter quad.
(Now I'm a slow & he rides full out on his Suzuki 450 sport quad!)

Moved away from sport quads & went with a 4X4 AC & even made it to the Hatfield-Mccoy trails in WV shortly after they opened...that was a fun trip with my son, friends & father inlaw.
After coming back from H-M trails in WV rideing in flat northern IN seemed pretty boring by comparison.

Few years back I bought a Kawi BF 750, I still have less than 50 miles on it.
Sadly work & the high cost of fuel keep me from going to far anymore for rideing.

Any of you INGO'ers ride, maybe get together for an INGO ride?
My Kawi....I need to get it dirty yet.

I've got an 06 Sportsman 800EFI, and I've basically taken it trail riding twice. The rest of the time, it is just used to plow my driveway and take occasional joy rides up a nearby dirt road, just to keep it from sitting too long. I used to have a couple Arctic Cats and we took them to Hatfield-McCoy in West Virginia, and to Coal Creek in Tennessee. Man, those were fun trips! We mostly did the Badlands in Attica and Haspin Acres near Laurel. Those were fun, too.

I've got to do some basic maintenance on it, and then I'd be up for a ride somewhere. It sounds like a blast! I'll post a pic later, when I get the chance to take one.

Nice looking Kawi, by the way! That v-twin is a sweetheart. I had a Kawasaki v-twin 650 in one of my Arctic Cats, and I thought it had the best sound of any ATV. It sounded MUCH better than this 800EFI, and could darned near keep up with it, too! I wish I still had that one.

My previous 4x4 was an AC700, had the big Suzuki single...it was a little underpowered, but I really liked that quad.
In a moment of stupidity I traded it for a boat.:dunno:

I have yet to make it down to the Badlands or Haspen acres.
Thanks for the comps on my Kawi, nothing wrong with the Sportsmans either. :yesway:

Oh yeah....anyone want to buy a boat.

I ride dirtbikes, usually Attica but there seems to be more and more of a chance to become roadkill with all the bigger 4X4s and rock crawlwers. I like going to Haspins Acres but haven't had time or money, mainly time to ride much. I have a 4 and 1 year old and my wife has to work everyother weekend so it is more of a garage paper weight that just gets moved around. I try to start it every few wekks but even fell off that bandwagon.
Used to ride out behind the MC prison years ago but got DNRed and have not been back.

    P.S. I also have a 225DX 3-wheeler. great fun.

I'm becoming interested. I'd really like a simple utility ATV for < $1,000. Is that doable? What would you recommend?

I have a Polaris RZR that I use mainly for plowing snow and pulling deer out of woods. I would be interested in getting together and doing some riding.

We also have a suzuki I just picked up off a fellow INGO member and a Raptor 90 for my son.

I got a bruteforce 750 the first year they made one. I love the thing, just wish it was fuel injected.

Mine has an FI engine, trade offs though.
Yes the throttle is more crisp, cold starts are as easy as pushing the green button....but if you get any grit in the fuel pump be prepared to grab your wallet.

I have always been a Honda ATV fan. Had a 97 foreman until last year and now have a 2008 Rubicon.

That makes me feel a little bit better about my 750. I hava sunk it in the creek before but that only took a few oil changes and new air filter to fix.

Somewhat know the feeling. I tried to play U-Boat captain with mine in a mud hole once. Of course the winch wouldn't freespool that day.....:xmad: I have a rule, if you don't see tracks into a water hole, don't be the first dumba** to try it. Needless to say I broke my rule that day.

Somehow I didn't get any water in the airbox, but I did fill my boots up pulling out 5' of winch rope at a time to reach the nearest tree.:D

I have 2 polaris 500 scramblers and a polaris trailblazer. We ride a lot at Interlake near Spurgeon Indiana. It is 3500 acres of state property. It is old strip mine and has everything from spill banks that are very technical to relatively flat areas to ride in. Just be prepared to get muddy. Last time I was there, there was no charge to ride there. You are supposed to have your atv registered with the state and wear a helmet, but I see lots of riders with out either. There are lots of strip pits to fish in and hunting is allowed also. Really a nice state property.

I've got a 500 ranger that I use in the woods pretty hard. I've got a cab on it that keeps the sticks and thorns out of my head. Also have a Polaris 500 ATP she uses around the yard.
