Is the next great flood coming in about 36 hours? I've noticed two of my neighbors who live by the creek moving stuff away from the almost dry creek bed.

They are saying 2 to 6 inches over a large part of the state. I live on a hilltop, so I'm not as worried.

What are you flat landers or valley folk doing to "prepare".................

Like the OP we live on top of a hill, but down at the bottom of our property we do have 500+ feet of frontage along Old SR 46, so I'll be making sure the drainage ditch is free of debris that could clog up the culvert and divert water onto the road. I'll also probably check out the generator. It should be ready to go, but I'll check it again just in case. We have plenty of gas for it. I do need to start up the chain saw tomorrow and make sure it's ready for any downed limbs or trees.

Going to work on sandbags tomorrow for my dad's foundation/basement. Otherwise it will flood several feet deep. Cleaned the gutters at home today and realized I need a screw for a saggy section.

I live on top of a 20 foot tall hill, so I'm more interested in keeping my poor non-hill-located garden from turning into Bubblegloop Swamp.

The water would have to be at least 50' high in the creek down the road and as wide as a river to get where I live. I live on top of a hill and there is many other areas where it can run off to. Now, where I lived in 2008 might, but that is why I don't live there anymore. If there is flooding, I will try to help my town as much as possible.

I will be at the Uofl UK game on Sunday during the heaviest of this rain. Louisville is expecting some serious flash flooding. Luckily I have some friends living at UofL with plenty of alcohol to keep me happy until I can get home.:D

We got over 12 inches in less than 2 days here a few winters ago and the little creek up the road was within a few feet of the house. Not supposed to get that much so I should be good. I will make sure the gutters and downs are clear.
