Personally I like the 8lb conector. I actually like a harder trigger pull. Im just used to it so its doesnt affect my oh s#$@ aim much. Im looking to get the big dot night sites as well. love them on my 642. They are definitly not for shooting bullseyes but are really easy to see in a hurry. Im liking the fobus cc paddles. Sit nice and tight on me, retain well so far, arent all that expensive, and easy to draw from and take on and off. :draw:

    Must Have
Night sights, and plenty of mags.

    Nice to Have
In addition to night sights, all my Glocks get the following treatment:
polishing of internal contact surfaces, to include the trigger bar (back end where it meets the connector, and vertical extension where it meets the firing pin safety), the connector "hand" where it meets the trigger bar, the face of the firing pin safety, and the firing pin lug
    • factory extended slide stop
    • factory extended mag catch, dehorned
    • frame plug
    • smooth trigger face (on compacts and subcompacts)

    Dumb questions.
Why do you polish these? And how do you go about polishing them?
And I've never heard of a dehorned extended mag catch.
    Smooth trigger face?

To remove surface imperfections that can affect the quality/smoothness of the trigger pull, and to "pre-mate" the contact surfaces. You could do the same thing over time by just shooting the gun, but it would take many thousands of rounds. Polishing can be accomplished by using some Flitz or similar polishing compound on a felt buffing wheel attached to Mr. Dremel.

And I've never heard of a dehorned extended mag catch.

The factory extended mag catch has sharp corners and edges that can dig into flesh, making IWB carry somewhat uncomfortable. I knock the corners off and lightly bevel the edges of the catch, so that it's still extended but just not as sharp.

    Smooth trigger face?

The compact and subcompact Glocks have a serrated "target" trigger in order to gain enough ATF points for importation, but it irritates the pad of my trigger finger during long or high-volume shooting sessions. The full-size Glocks have a smooth trigger face, which I find to be much more comfortable. I simply replace the trigger w/ trigger bar assembly in the compacts and subcompacts with one from the full-size gun.

    HTH!

Not sure about that polishing thing, sounds a little complicated, and I know that I'd screw something up with Mr. Dremel.
You made me want to get out my G21 and compare the trigger with my G19 now.

As said you could just shoot the GLOCK and it will smooth out, or dry fire it every day. Dry firing with help you with trigger control.

    1) Night Sights
    2) Extended Slide Release
    3) Frame/Grip Plug
    4) Not much else is needed to an 'out of the box' G-32 (.357sig) that is dead-on accurate and very fun to shoot...except maybe the addition of a .40 S&W barrel.

Once you get in there, it'll make more sense and you'll see it's alot easier than it sounds.

As far as "de-horning" the mag release goes, the term sounds much more complicated than it is. I just remove it from the gun, then take an emery board/fingernail file, or about 150 grit sandpaper, and round the edges and corners of the protruding portion so that they don't cut into my hand. I'm a lefty, so I came about this purely by necessity.

I do de-horn the standard-length release, which I went back to. Shooting left handed, it would cut into the top of my middle finger, middle knuckle.

Again, for a carry/fighting pistol, the extended mag release is not recommended. As a lefty, my mag release is exposed when holstered, and susceptible to accidental bumping more so than most. In a fight though, it's exposed no matter which hand the gun is in. And in a gunfight, a magazine is a terrible thing to lose.
