    use a bat.

if you can't justify using a lethal weapon, don't use it.
that said, if someone enters my home, i'll assume their ill-intent includes harm from myself and my guests.

I want to be able to stop the person where they are, whatever that means I have to use. Personally I will never use bean bag rounds or anyhing like that when my own safety is in question

I'll use LTL ammo if the perp sends me a notarized letter that he will only carry LTL rounds also. Letter must be sent no less than 7 days in advance of said envision woth a 30 minute window. Other than that, lead will be used.

You only shoot if your life is in danger, shoot to kill.

That is not a wise mindset and even less wise to post on the internet. If you are using deadly force to defend against death or great bodily harm, you use that force to stop the attack. If the person attacking you lives or dies is not your concern.

Prudent shot placement may stop the attack faster than poor shot placement but the cease of attack is the desired result, death as a result of deadly force may or may not be an outcome.

I voted no, but sometimes use FMJ which I consider 'less lethal'. They start after about the 6th. or 7th. round in my mags.

It's not a good idea to mix ammunition in a magazine.

More importantly FMJ hardball ammunition is more likely to over penetrate and cause harm to innocents after passing through an attacker.

It also leaves a smaller wound channel, therefore has a smaller chance of hitting something that will stop an attacker and is more likely to fail at exerting all its energy within the body of the attacker. So it could veiwed as less lethal than JHP.

The problem with that is explaining to a jury that you applied "less lethal" force in a situation where you felt that you had to use deadly force or lose your life while increasing the danger to innocents around you.
