I'm completely on board with this whole 1911 thing now. :D

I'm looking into either a Kimber Tactical Custom HD II, or a Colt Special Combat Government.

Anyone want to comment on these two models?

Dont hesitate, get that 2nd 1911.... many more will follow !!!

I do regret getting rid of a Kimber Tactical, but at the time it was the right thing to do.

I have had really good results with alot of Kimbers, but Im really fond of my pre series II pistols, the Pro CDP being one of my favorites and is and EDC when its not my G19.

I own Colts and Kimbers and like both platforms. Look at them and decide which one you like the best. I know it's not much help but both are good guns and I'd like either one.

I have a Colt Gold Cup and love it. I know that doesn't help you out much but it's a great gun. I have a buddy that has a Kimber (unsure of model) and he enjoys it too. Good luck...

Of the two models you have listed Id go with the Colt.

I have a Colt XSE and it eats anything and everything. I had a Kimber and it was ammo picky. My Kimber was very tight and very accurate where as my Colt is loose and somewhat less accurate but Im the type that will take reliablity over accuracy when its only a very small margin.

Also just to throw it out there my Springfield Loaded 1911 is just as tight and accurate as my Kimber was and is just as reliable as my Colt is, And it was the least expensive. So food for thought. I know you already have an MC Operator, A loaded is pretty much just the MC Operator w/o the rail.

That stainless Loaded looks pretty sweet.

    Which loaded do you have?

I've owned two different stainless Springfield 1911s, one was loaded, the other mil-spec.

    Both were outstanding guns :yesway:

I am thinking about a small 1911 to IWB carry, since my 5" moster 1911 gets bulky at times. I really like the look of the 1911 that the Marine Corps is purchasing , like to pick one of those up when come to the market.
