I think he is referring to Bradis. I carry everywhere I go so if a shop doesn't want me to carry in their business they don't want my business. But I would never take my gun out to try to fit it in a new holster either. :twocents:

I agree. I know my LGS doesn't have it posted anywhere. I don't patronize places that say "NO WEAPONS". I understand the laws about private places and a GFZ I just choose not to support a place that chooses to be a victim.

    Not a fan of Bradis?

Are we talking about Bradis? I'm not. At least, I'm not talking about Bradis specifically. I'm talking about any gun shops that have "No Loaded Guns" signs but then say "Oh, but that sign isn't for YOU." If it's not for me, then put up a better sign. You're just confusing and alienating your customers.

If this were Applebee's, people would be losing their crap and demanding that we practically storm the place with carry events to show them how wrong they are in their stance. I fail to see why gun shops (the one place where this shouldn't be an issue) get a free pass on banning guns. I have always maintained that a better sign is something like "Keep your loaded gun in its holster".

Hmmmm... Gun Store=Gun-Free Zone. I think they may be on to something.

Wait, wait. Don't tell me: The clerk's there are armed to protect you should such a need arise?

    :+1:

Then there would be a 20 page thread about whether they should pay the bill or not.

These signs at gun shops always bewildered me. For Christ's sake...it's how they make a living. But a loaded gun is too dangerous to come thru the door?

*Edit: I do understand that it's their business and they are free to make any rules they wish. And I respect that.

Why won't the OP post the name of the store?

If that's their policy, then they shouldn't mind him advertising that they enforce it.

Just ****ing carry (legally, of course) and go on with your business, folks. I never will understand the debate. Just do your thing and be smart about it. We Hoosiers are fortunate our laws are mute on method of carry. Let's keep it that way. Arguing over how we exercise our right, especially when threatened like now, makes no sense to me. Unite, people.

And for Christ's sake if you haven't figured out carry in your LGS...

    Why bring it up then?

The only reason I can think to mention it is if you, for some reason, want somebody to know it's there?

I mean I'm sure they didn't say, "I have socks on that I have no intention of removing while in your store. I also have shoes that will remain on me. My boxers, while you can't see them, will remain safely around my waist and under my pants."

If it's concealed, and not against the law but against policy, keep it concealed and keep your mouth shut or face the consequences [being asked to leave or to disarm outside].

The reason that it was mentioned was simply that my brother never even thought of it as an issue...Concealed carry, every day, multiple visits to gunshops in a month,...I had to join INGO to realize that some people don't carry concealed at gun shows! When he told me that this had happened he was truly surprised.

I prefer concealed carry,I have been employed in conditions that required me to open carry in busy places, and I prefer not to have to watch everyone's hands so closely.I do appreciate the statement that OCrs are making...maybe it is time to push BACK,and not stay at home quietly thankful for the "rights" granted to us!

I OC sometimes, it just depends on the situation. When I do I go with the Safariland ALS holsters. I really like the way the release works on the thumb side, kind of the antithesis of the Serpa philosophy. But again, JFC and stand together!

Must be Bradis, I was kinda shocked myself when I saw it. But you go to ITP and just about everyone is carrying. Saw a woman with a Judge on her thigh the other day, and a young guy with a B.A. holster for his G19 with 33 round backup mag in it. Bradis does have some killer deals though. So does PSS.

I have to ask....this is a gun shop that doesn't want you carrying???? I had to have missunderstood....

Most, if not all, of the major gun shops in the Indianapolis area have a "no loaded guns" sign prominently displayed at their entrance. Whether or not they really mean it is a matter of debate, and the compliance rate is unknown, but the signs are clearly posted.

Nobody can argue the signs aren't visible, especially at Bradis. It is their right to post no guns signs but for those that support it I expect you not to be bashing in the next thread about BW3's or the next restaurant to come up having the same sign. I'm sure these restaurants just do it because of the same "insurance reasons" that the LGS's do.

You're probably right, Bradis does, PSS does, Highsmith doesn't, I don't think Elmores or Outdoorsman do, ITP has an okay sign, any others I can't comment on.

Gander Mountain, Dick's, and Indy Gun Safety all have acceptable signs as well. If it were really an insurance issue, you can bet stores like Gander Mountain would have different signs.
