My yard is a target for poop. Someone walks their dog, and doesn't pick it up.

How do you stop it? This morning with the snow I saw a set of footprints and dog tracks in my yard with a present left behind. No attempt was made to pick it up. And it was in the same spot that I keep finding it. The snow made it more obvious.

Should I put up a sign? I've never seen it happen or I would ask the person if they need a bag to pick it up with.

Be ready with a latex glove on. When dog does business, run out, grab it and start tossing like a monkey!

Actually get you a small electric fence like you might put around a kennel. My neighbor had one for when his dog would go into heat. Funniest thing in the world to see a stray dog get zapped.

I really don't want to be "that neighbor," but since I don't own a dog, I don't want to have to watch where I walk in my own yard. During the summer I would scoop it out into the road hoping they would see it and get the hint. Guess not, since who ever it is, is actually walking into my yard to let their dog poop.

Based on the title of this thread, my sympathy was going to be with your neighbors...

Try and figure out where it's coming from. Then box it up and mail it to the dog's owners with a note saying it was left in your yard and you wanted to return it.

Why spend the money? Save it for about a month in a plastic bag sealed tight so it does not dry out, bring it back to them all at once in their yard.

If I see it happening, I go out with some doggie bags in hand and very politely let them know that if they ever need a bag to feel free to knock. If we aren't home there will be some left in the mailbox too. It's all too easy to take off on a walk and forgot a bag. It's a very friendly gesture but it also makes it pretty clear you don't want their dog's crap in your yard, or anyone else's yard for that matter.

Get an airhorn for the times you see it happening. Run to the door and let off a blast. They'll both evacuate their bowels and wont stop there again.
