I've only owned 3. One, a P238, has been fantastic from day one. Another is a Sig Scorpion full size 1911 and it is very good with Wilson Combat mags, but the slide does not lock back with it's factory mags. The third was a P6 which was a nice gun, but big for the number of rounds carried.

For me, the Sig P238 is the best of the bunch but that's only based on what I've owned.

I own a couple P228s, and they are superb. The P226 and P220 are both classic SIGs though. The nicest to shoot is my X5. And then there is the original P210. Never shot one, never even seen one, but they are talked about in hushed tones by those that know them...

I carried an M11 (P228) on my last tour in Iraq. That gun really sold me on Sig and away from Glock. I still love my Glock and use it for competition, but I carry a Sig P220 Carry Elite Stainless. The Short Reset Trigger is a great improvement over the trigger in the M11 I carried. The M11 I carried should not be confused with the M11-A1 now available. There are some differences, and American Rifleman did a good story in it in the May 2013 issue. The only thing I would change about my P220 is I should have gotten the full size barrel rather than the carry. Even so, it shoots much tighter groups than my 1911.

In any polling of Sig fans, the P228 will almost always top such a list. The P210 to we older guys will also be there. Of the "newer" guns, the P239 is a favorite of many. The original P220 is a bit large to carry but the P220 Carry is a quality substitute. Nearly all of the Sig offerings of the last 10 years are junk and were rushed to market by Sig management when their gun tech people preached that they didn't know how to make smaller, polymer guns and they weren't ready. The one winner out of them so far is the SP2022.

I got on Sig's band-wagon in the mid 1980's and have been there since (even with the Cohen-era decline.) I carry a P228 (see avatar) most of the year but do sometimes carry a P239 in the summer. I do have to add that I now have a H&K P30 LEM that is challenging for carry time as well. A wonderful gun.

I have my worries with the M11-A1.....i think SIG messed up big with this gun. Everything I've seen says its a P229 with different markings and coating....idk I just think it's a marketing gimmick

I have had a p239 9mm, P220 compact SAO, P220r, and a P938 Nightmare....I no longer have any sigs. But am on an EPIC quest to obtain a W. German p228. I absolutely love this gun which is why I ranked it as the best. I've shot and fondled many, and cannot get away from it. My only Sig I regret getting rid of is the P239...it was a great ccw gun and gun in general. P220 compact was CHUNKY, amazing trigger, but CHUNKY. P220r....great gun, no qualms with it, just got bored with. And the P938 Nightmare was just that....a nightmare. Since then I jumped on the HK wagon, and I'm jumping ship on it. I love my HK USPc .40, but the HK USPc .45 is meh...idk. I guess at the end of the day, there's nothing like a Sig....The sleek lines and curves give it that "European Sports Car" look and mystique that every spy would have, and its ruggedness puts it at the top of it's class. Just my opinion...chime in when you want!

Agreed with all most every point. I dont care for the sp2022...dont have a reason why. Just doesnt appeal to me.

On another note...why can you not find a good P228 for sale anymore!? Do people just not want to give them up? Or has the new M11-A1 filled the gap!?!?! They are almost no where to be found!?

Seems to be a trend...All I keep seeing on gunbroker and like really abused ones, or the new M11...Which I refuse to buy personally. I'm not going for a cherry 228, but man some of them are beat to hell
