I plan on hopefully taking the Abate course in crown point in June or July depending on choices. Never been on a bike before. Anybody have any tips for a noob?

If you have a wife and kids take out a good life insurance policy.

If this is sarcasm, then use purple. If not, then what are you saying? Do you have any experience with the ABATE course or just make a general "motorcyclist are organ donors" slam? Either way, it's inappropriate.

I don't know what his intentions were but it's good advice. Motorcycles are statistically much more dangerous than automobiles. Riders are something like 30 percent more likely to die in the event of an accident compared to their automobile counterparts. That is just the risk you recognize and accept because you enjoy it - same as anything else.

Getting good life insurance should have nothing to do with whether or not you ride, though. You should just have it anyway.

I'd rather try and PREVENT my demise first, then second, PREPARE for it.

That means wearing ALL the gear, ALL the time and constantly staying focused on riding and improving my skills.

On work computer so no pics, but I have a 2012 Superglide Custom and I passed my skills test today with flying colors. Well, I put my foot down once(during the cone drill), but other than that, flying colors! :rockwoot:

Riding off and on for 20 years and never had a motorcycle endorsement. Feels good to be legal.

Rode my Harley from Crown point to Top Sail Island, NC last Sunday. I did about 1000 miles in one day. It was awesome.
Here is a picture of my buddy and I riding the Island.

Here is the location of our new house we are building down there.

My dad and I took our bikes to Sandusky, OH last week. Good little ride, but mostly straight roads.....

Managed to get a flat about an hour into he trip. Took two plugs to stop the leak. Looks like a new rear is in my future.

    Nice collection!

Thanks. I am currently without a steed in the coral, but if I ever get another bike, it will most likely be another Goldwing. My transition from single to married life has sort of curbed my wanderlust significantly. Every time I look at my old motorcycling pictures I start salivating, I love bikes and I love the highway. My wife never asked me to get rid of them, but she doesn't ride, so I've changed my free time activities to something that include her likes as well. I told her when I got rid of my bikes, that I would spend my time hunting and fishing, and she loves going fishing with me. So it's not all bad, I have added a few guns to the collection that I wouldn't have purchased if I still had the bikes. :)
