Happened to my sister, got a letter postmarked 9/27/13, received it 10/1/13, stating that her plan was being cancelled 10/1/13 and she still hasn't been able to sign up on the health insurance exchange. It's ridiculous. I normally try to avoid political stuff all together, but this is just plain stupid.

I thought this too until Obama explained that anyone complaining was just a frustrated Republican. Everyone else is very pleased. ;)

From what I have been hearing, this entire barrycare program was not very well thought out, planned or implemented. They have encountered some problems that may turn out to be insurmountable. Important personal information will be made readily available to hackers with criminal intent. The rates will soon have to go up since millions of the young and unisured are not flocking to sign up so that their premiums will subsidize us older farts who are forced into the program. The vast majority of the yourn people who do sign up will be the ones who will get the big subsidies and essentially get cheap health care without really contributing much to the program. How will this group help to support the older people when they will be putting very little into the plan? The White House was warned that there would be such problems as are currently being experienced, but decided to go ahead with trying to implement this disaster-in-waiting to try and save face just in case it did happen to work. Just remember the promises from our fearless leader---"If you like your plan, you can keep it. If you like your physician, you can stay with him." Yeah, right!!!!! One of my doctors will likely go into early retirement and a group of cardiologists are already looking into moving to Mexico to set up practice. They must expect things to get pretty bad if they are seriously considering a move to Mexico.

Yup. Our group plan was canceled. The group is starting a trust to become self-funded. And the premiums will increase, naturally.

It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out that by adding millions of people who won't pay premiums into the mix, and dropping reimbursements to doctors and other providers so that they will opt out, it's a recipe for disaster. But hey, it's "free candy." They bought it hook, line and sinker. And those of us who have to foot the bill are getting fed up.

Let it collapse under its own weight. If they can coddle it along for a couple of years, perhaps -- perhaps -- America will wake up and say, "That's enough!" and vote out the career politicians of all stripes who count on this kind of stuff to fund their lifestyles.

But I'm not holding my breath.

Wish I had your optimism N8RV, but the continuing social creep says otherwise. You'd think we've had enough botched government take-over well before Obamacare, but not so. The herd continues to turn for the big barn rather than the open prairie. There's a reason you never hear the phrase "wild cattle".

This is my hope! Nothing can be done right now, but a STRATEGY needs to be put in place to get the right people elected. I do not see the Republican Party doing this right now. Real change can happen in three years and hopefully it will be a change that will stop the decay of the middle class in which both parties desire to see.

I think it's going just how it was designed to go. Sometime after the next election the next Democrat President will save us all with a single payer system. By then I will be in my mid to late fifties and, being a gun owner and veteran, will be a prime candidate for the Liverpool Protocol. Yea socialism.

I understand postal employees will be switched over in 2015. I seriously hope the system can manage such a huge group. I'm not certain it can and why the switch?

I have seen some articles that say retired military, like me, who are not in areas with VA services will be shifted over to the ACA. So much for free health care for life.

If you head for the barn at least you can get in out of the rain until the roof rots. Lemmings (liberals) on the other hand will just follow their fearless leacher over the edge of the cliff and never even ask WTF?

    2 words: Cloward–Piven

Overburden the system to collapse it and then start over with a communist utopia.

The Socialists have been planning this crap for decades and are succeeding because most Americans know nothing about published documents like these.
It's not like they're trying to hide their plans, it's just that most complacent sheeple don't give a damn.
By the time they wake up and realize the danger it'll be too late to recover the Republic.

anyone paying attention to what the democrats have done and how its worked in the past would have seen this coming. Many more will lose their coverage, the gov't will soon be in complete control of our health care. holy crap this is a disaster, the tea party saw it, conservatives saw it, democrats knew it but lied about it, how this country voted these people in is beyond me. fraud plus stupidity is dangerous. so sad.
