I'll be happy to give the $0.05 back to the OP so that the police officer can build relationships in his community that he serves. There is such negative press about corrupt officers or those who abuse their authority, I think this is a good gesture. There are more good officers than bad ones. They need good press.

    The op is a cop.

Any idea on what it takes to get permission to post dash-cam video on youtube? It was up there within a day of the "incident" which seems rather fast for any governmental entity.

I saw someone shot recently who the IMPD officer that came to our ED knew from a prior incident. He said he's spoken with this kid numerous times about turning his life around and taken a lot of time while on scenes to talk some sense into him. It obviously doesn't work all the time, but I agree it's worth positive out-reach attemps.

I don't see anything wrong with an officer taking a few minutes out of his day to make kids day. As long as he is not setting up playing for extended periods of time while on duty or missing any calls that he needs to be at.

I stopped and pulled a guy out of the ditch the other day on my way to work, I was a few minutes late. Should my customers be mad that I helped another person out and therefor I was late? (I let me boss know so there was no trouble.)

Its more kind acts like this we need in times like this.

Y'know, from time to time I think: "why the purple....aren't we all smart enough to tell sarcasm from sincerity?" Then I read a thread like this.

Anyhoo, as to the video, thats the kind of "Reed and Malloy" stuff I hope still goes on more than we know.

For safety sake if any officers are planning the football goof off please install some cleats on the jackboots to make sure you don't slip and get injured.

Good news is they are dual purpose.

I need some of those. I fall and bust my ass at least once every time it snows. Falling down mid-curbstomp isn't very intimidating.

Sarcasm is a great way to make fun of newbies or those not in the "inner circle". It is a low form of humor and that's why it really should be in purple. Of course with so many members, driving off a few here and there really doesn't matter. This was just plain trolling.

It's such a low form of humor that it has to be advertised in order to be understood?

Are such witty retorts as : "Cranial Rectitus”, "...shootouts and all of the crap you see on CSI?" and “...last train to Cluesville” more to your highbrow tastes?

Purple wasn't used to denote sarcasm when I joined and no one seemed to have a problem. I have some butthurt lotion you can borrow.
