From the moral high ground of INGO, it's really easy to say we wouldn't take advantage. Let's see what happens when that happens to your gas pump.

Until they start charging a "fair" price.

Gas cost in the US is lower than elsewhere. There is only a limited amount of this stuff. China and India will buy up more and more petroleum. It's just going to get more and more expensive.

I'm not afraid to admit it, I'd fill my truck up. Then I'd go home and get the wife's truck and fill it.

10 out of 16 INGOers said they'd take the gas at a penny. Why am I not surprised. Funny that some will take advantage of a gas station and then complain about ammo flippers.

So if an ammo flipper "screwed up" and charged you 18 bucks for a brick of .22 instead of $75, you would give him his extra 57 bucks?

And I like the talk about how "they" take advantage of "us" by simply charging the market rate. But if you read/listen to this story, the station is an independently owned store. The money is not coming out of the pockets of some giant corporation, its coming out of the pockets of some guy who probably lives in the same town/community as where that station is located.

Independent gas station owners make very slim margins and most of them don't succeed in business over the long term. They are not like 'ammo flippers' in any way. They suffer when the chains lower the price, they make a few pennies when the chains around them raise. But they work for every penny they get and I know for fact that they don't make nearly as much as most here would seem to believe.

So, no, this is "not like stealing" as one person wrote. This "is stealing" from the pocket of your neighbor.

Is stealing from the pocket of a huge corporation morally superior to stealing from the pocket of your neighbor?
