I wonder if anyone has griped because they can't participate in the "Show and Tell" threads because they can't be bothered to post a pic. No? Didn't think so.

I don't speak for anyone else, but I often don't post about stuff I do (whether here or other fora, or FB or wherever, this isn't a gripe about this site, or even a gripe in general) because there's always someone demanding pics be posted. Sometimes I post pics, sometimes it more of a pita than I care to deal with for just conversation. In the case of the classifieds here, the only times I haven't posted pics was when it was something that just wasn't worth the time and effort to do so on the off-chance that a fence-sitter might be swayed, like range brass that I had already boxed up. As always I will abide by the new rules of the site, or I will limit my participation accordingly, no big deal. In spite of what some people seem to think, I'm not so self-important to believe that my contributions are of anything but fleeting value to more than a handful of folks.

As for stock photos in other instances, caveat emptor. Feedback ratings will accurately reflect how accurate one's descriptions and photos are. Again, there hasn't been an issue with stock photos being used in the past, it shouldn't be an issue going forward.

Can we get a clarification on this? There seems to be some mixed messages.

    I received this via PM.

BTW, VUPDBlue just PMed me. Stock photos are NOT allowed... which emphasizes my point precisely...

From the original message on this rule change:

    Yes, I read the text.

I'm asking for clarification since we are getting conflicting information from 2 different mods. I don't much care either way, as I will continue to post pics of my actual items as I always have.

As much whining as there has already been, it would be best if the rule were clear one way or the other.

Sounds like one of the mods is simply wrong.

My final :twocents:, and them I'm out....

The "funny pic" thread has 207 pages...... of pictures. Posting them doesn't seem to be an issue.

Stock photos are allowed. At no point were they disallowed.

When I sell a gun, I go through great effort to photograph it so that it gives an accurate representation of the gun.
So this rule causes no change for me.

On the flip side, I will NEVER consider buying a gun that has no CLEAR photograph of the actual gun for sale.
It screams too loudly of some level of misrepresentation.

    I see.
So wasting time to drive somewhere and see a verbally misrepresented gun without a picture should be no problem for anybody?

Huh? I was referring to those so twisted up over having to post pictures. I, personally, am not driving anywhere without a picture.

I doubt BA was referring to you.

And yes, going a great distance and seeing something different than was originally represented gets my panties in a twist.
