I went for lunch a few weeks (month?) ago. I'm not a big upside down pizza fan, but it was good. I wouldn't stand in line around the block for it, though.

Lived in Chiagao area for 10 years - Giordano's is the only pizza I actually go back for.
    It's stuffed - bottom crust - chesses/toppings - top crust - sauce.

Just keep in mind - if you go and order, it does take a little longer for the stuffed.
I've never had regular crust there.

Giordano's and Portillo's are the only restaurants I'd LOVE to see open in my neighborhood.

If you like the abomination that is Chicago style pizza, it's fine. Personally, I find pizza casserole to be terrible.

There seem to be a lot of different ideas of what Chicago Style Pizza is.

Personally, I am not a fan of this place.

OP, in the end you will need to go try it yourself. It is worth trying at least once to see if you like it.

Pizza is not meant to be 2+ inches thick. That what he means. For that style of pizza, I agree that Giordanos is fine. Personally, I prefer New York style.

Best pizza in the world. If its as good as the Chicago restaurants then you're good to go. I just hope the quality is there being down in Indy so far from the city.

That's the real question ^^ -- is it a reasonable facsimile of the heaven that is Chicago Giordano's? All of you New York style freaks, go eat a refrigerator box.

To each their own. Personally, I think Geno's is much better than Giordano's. Luckily for everyone, we are not stuck with one or the other. :):

I have to say I am not much of a fan of the NY style though.

Sure, Giordano's is great. I always go to the one on 53rd and Blackstone in Hyde Park (close to all the bookstores).

I always get a veggie or spinach (not by choice, my friends I go with cannot legally do the whole meat pizza thing).

Last year I gave them as Christmas gifts to my brother's family. The kids were in pizza heaven.

I think Chicago style pizza was invented by a Texan. Giordano's

Spinach and sausage is a good one.

    Bring your appetite!

It is good but usually a wait. Surprisingly, if you like itallian beef, they have a great one. If you show up when they open, you'll get seated right away.
