A lot of good info here guys! Where would I find out when and where the next Utah non-resident permit training is?
I just did a lot of searching on a reciprocity map, and for me it looks like Florida, North Dakota or Idaho would be the states to obtain a non resident permit from. Any of those states would gain me IA, MO, OH and TN
IA and MO are the two that are hard to come by!

edit: North Dakota would also gain me New Mexico, and Florida would gain New Mexico and Nevada.

Oops! Strike North Dakota and Idaho! I didn't clear the map between states. If I get an out of state permit it will be Florida.

I could be wrong (am plenty of the time) but don't believe that Florida or Utah will get you Iowa. Just ain't happenin.

Why would you want Florida instead of Utah. Lower cost in the long run and about equal coverage.

    Where's the bacon?
So if i move to another state that does honor the indiana permit i don't have to apply for a permit in that state?

Depends on the state. Most will require you to obtain theirs. Additionally, if you no longer live or work in Indiana, I believe I heard/read that ISP converts your LTCH to a 4 year. I'm not sure of this; they may just suspend the LTCH or even revoke it.

    Blessings,
    Bill

Are there any non resident permits I could get that would allow me to have reciprocity with OR and WA? I've got a friend I want to go see in OR and my sister is in WA and I'm hoping to go visit them soon.

Oregon is one of the 14 that recognizes no permit but it's own. Washington recognizes the non-res Utah permit.

Let see If I understand this correctly? Ohio is an open carry state. Meaning I can carry as long as it's not concealed? I'm just passing thru the state. Won't be there for more than 20 miles. I don't plan on getting out of my truck.

If you're travelling in Texas, even if you have a permit, you can be cited for printing; where the weapon is outlined thru your clothing making it obvious that you are armed. Open carry is specifically illegal, permit or no.
