OK, as a plus-size woman, now I'm wondering how guys talk about me when I'm not around. Sheesh.

I think what she did had less to do with size and more to do with ballsiness. She was fearless and had absolutely no respect for his position as an officer. That can take you a long way no matter what your size.

Police work is easy from the comfort of your mom's basement. You two should put in applications and show everyone how to do the job correctly.

I have spent time serving in that capacity. I am not a side line person. I feel just find passing judgment on the guy for not being able to ask her, tell her and make her. So to answer you I have already done so.

So you would not have handled that situation differently?

My comment was not a insult to a LEO, I am sure he walked away thinking the situation could have gone different and his take from it would probably be to do things differently next time. I try to learn from the video as well, the fact that he was LEO doesn't mean much as I look at it as a large woman vs a mid sized guy.

I understand being nice to people in this day and age but that woman was not being easy to get along with. Was this a real LEO or another wannabe mall cop? That could explain a lot of what I saw.
With all the cameras in use these days I wouldn't want to be in those positions. Good Luck to our LEO community.

    How much time?

Enough. When I decided it was time for her to go to the ground it would have happened and I would have been in control. This guy got behind the curve being too nice. But he did not have the ability to put an end to it. He could not throw her to the ground when he tried. That is unacceptable. If a full grown man cannot put an out of control woman on the ground when it is called for then that is unacceptable. If you don't like the criticism fine.

    How much time?

What difference does it make ?

First I would have like to see a video of how that situation escalated to reach that level of putting hands on each other.
Was it nessessery to go to that level ?
And for whatever reason, when it got there, that first officer had no skills in the art of a takedown, None Nada, not one skill. He's lucky backup arrived, and the sad part is they too were not prepared themselves. She had brute force, tonnage and the will not to be arrested.
Learning simple takedown skills and practicing them goes along way, for the most part the general public does not know self defense.
A officer should know the basics of self defense, not only for his own safety but for others as well.
That situation once it reached putting hands on a citizen should have been handled in seconds, not minutes.

Gross Tonnage always wins when dealing with boats and ships, but it doesn't always win in hand to hand.

I beached a whale like that after a shoplifting (the wig flying incident) and was called a racist by the defense attorney on the stand until the judge finally intervened. That was well before the current narrative.

The media pushes an agenda, and this is what has resulted. We used to relegate this sort of BS 'journalism' to CopBlock and other fringe whackos, now its mainstream.

On my phone it looked like " lots of bush " first bush I've seen in a long time..
And actually I am glad there was lots of bush, without the bush...... Well I'm just glad there was bush.

Yes I'm glad that was from my phone and not a computer screen. The humanity.

And she'd get a black eye from that punch too. Bonus!

    Poor guy.
He was just outnumbered. He was being way too nice which could have been not wanting to be the bad guy on the news or he really didn't know what to do. (pretty obvious)

I saw a few able guys watching but not helping at all. Just need to stand there and record with their phones?
Useless people **** me off. :xmad:

    Black eye = cool

    Brown eye = :puke:

I'm with you and Sylvain. The half dozen or more people taking video with their phones could have, ya know, helped. That being said, when backup arrived I wouldn't want to get mistaken for a bad guy. Still, I'd rather that than just watch a cop get beat up or worse.

Why is it the one cop is more concerned with innocent bystanders and their recordings than the actual perp? Why are they so afraid of being recorded?

I was waiting for "I can't breathe!" She was huffing and puffing there at the end. If you want to breathe, don't break the law and fight cops when you get caught.

A lady is a lady and should be treated and respected as such. That is, until such time she abdicates her status as a lady. After that it's game on.

Cop was being too nice, but with the way things are these days, if he had done the smart tactical thing, he would have had death threats, suspension, IA investigations, lawsuits.... He still might, for that matter. We live in a strange world.

I think it is rude to make comments about a lady's weight. See earlier comment regarding abdication of lady-ness.

This is my point of view from the cheap seats. I had home made chocolate chip pancakes, sausage, bacon, milk and afterwards black coffee this morning. I'm watching my kids play right now. I am neither a cop nor a shoplifter. I'm just a quiet citizen.
