I'm looking to buy a new pistol and was hoping for some feedback. I plan to use it for self defense, home defense, range training, long range shooting, and light home remodeling. I want the most powerful bullets I can find so I only have to shoot once. Ammo is expensive so I feel like conservation is key. What kind of bullets do you recommend? Also, how many extra clips should I get? Also, what's the best model of floppy nylon holster to buy? What about brands? The guy at the ammo cabinet at Walmart said they used Hi Points loaded with Black Talons when he was with SEAL Team 6. He said civilians can't get them since they explode on impact. I saw some fancy Jiminez and Bryco offerings at a garage sale so I'm leaning that way right now. Would they be accurate for head shots out to 400 yards? How about YouTube training recommendations? I know the importance of quality training and I've already watched all the Die Hard movies, so I feel ready to take it to the next level.

    Any suggestions are appreciated! :D

Die Hard!? What a newb (noob is the rong spelling)...

I get all my tactical ninja facts from FPSRussia. No one is better to show you how to blast bad guys. Unlike Bruce Willis, he isn't fictional.

One important point to consider for you ammo is over-penetration. After killing 2-3 bad guys, you don't want the bullet to penetrate the wall into the next room and kill the baby (or even worse, the babe). The would ruin the ending. For that reason, I recommend only loading .22s. I can fit them 2 at a time into my .44 magnum.

I've seen an increase in first timers in the past week. It's almost like something happened that makes them worry about their gun rights being taken away.

OMG I found a picture of someone carrying a pistol with the hammer cocked! OMG they must be insane!

And this, coming from an avatar like THAT!

To the o.p. I would think a Browning Monster Gun (BMG) would fit your bill.
Load it up with a 7000gr pill over 187grs of Universal Birds.
It should take everything from moose down to that pesky mosquito, and renovate your house (new skylights) all in the same shot!

Three fits but it's a little tight. You must use a hammer. I prefer a 32 oz. waffle face Estwing as you have to conform the brass just a tad.

Try working part time at rural king like I do and keeping a straight face when you hear "those cobra are pretty good right? " I try to steer them into somthing else but the customer just eyes me like a used car salesmen. Then I get dirty looks for not carrying any holsters for them.

Last year I made the decision to trust my life on the street to Second Chance body armor. I got the level IIa because it stops the most rounds. plus I got the Trauma Plate for the front.
What scares me is that, although I can fit an extra trauma plate in the front, I cannot fit a second one in back. As of late I have taken to duct-taping a second trauma plate to the area of my back where the heart and vital organs are located. Then I put my vest on.....

Definitely look for a gun with a rail to attach a pistol bayonet.
You won't be out of the fight even if you run dry on ammo.

I would recommend not using a nylon holster, or any holster for that matter. You should always conceal when out in public. A pair of cargo pants with as big of pockets as you can find works best. Just slip your gun in the pocket. Some people think you should use a pocket holster, but they slow down the draw. Too much friction. The other side is where you should put extra clips. Fill the pocket! You never know when you'll be facing an entire mob at 400 yds.

Go get yourself a scoped Davis .380. Pair it with some gun show reloads and BANG BABY! You got one top tier combat weapon system.

A LOT of good suggestions here. I will definitely be looking for a Davis with a scope and a rail for a bayonet. As far as the .25, will that shoot sub-MOA at 400 yards? I shot my buddy's Glock 7 and put 3 rounds through the same hole at 200 yards. There was a 50 mph crosswind, but there were no witnesses. I thought about just shoving it in my pocket as somebody mentioned, but I think I'll tie a string around my belt loop and tie the other end to the trigger guard and just drop it down my pants for double secret deep concealment. Well, I need to go watch some Yeager videos. Now THAT guy knows his stuff!
