First off, she didn't write the speech. She picked the wrong person to do it. And considering she is not even the candidate or even going to be holding any office in the administration this is a non issue.

Not an official office, but since the days of Eleanor Roosevelt it's a position with a great amount of power and influence.

The primary reason Colin Powell didn't run for President is that he didn't want to expose his wife to the visibility of being First Lady due to her chronic depression. Had Powell chosen to run, he would have easily been the nominee over Dubya, and the country far better off for it.

    Were the words copy writed?

Why yes, yes they were. Well, not the individual words (can't copyright those), but the work as a whole.

"The United States copyright law protects "original works of authorship," fixed in a tangible medium including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and other intellectual works. This protection is available to both published and unpublished works." It became copyrighted when Michelle gave the speech.

It wasn't necessary, but I got a formal copyright when I finished my dissertation. The implicit copyright existed the moment I submitted it to my committee.

And please cite the USC 18 laws broken by Hillary. Please be specific.

Well, I'll choose to be outraged at the asshattery Clinton(s) have done over the years and gotten away with over a presumptive future first lady's speech any day. To each his own. To me one doesn't even compare with the other.

This is exactly the kind of stuff they want us to be quibbling over instead of concentrating on the real issues.

Take your pick. The democrats, trump, the media.. The main point I was getting at was it's a distraction that we should not be quibbling over.

I was wondering why the obamas were not speaking out about Michelle being plagiarized, but it could be because King Barack did it himself, in a speech during his 2008 run for president where he plagiarized former Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick.[FONT=Source Sans Pro, sans-serif]

Because they have enough sense to know it's a non issue. The liberal media is using it as bait for Hilary. It's the best that they can do for the moment.

If she's a naturalized American citizen, then she likely values her citizenship much more than some of us born to it. I'm told naturalized US citizens generally are.

Maybe, but you'd think that the wife of a guy running for president, would have a wife whose loyalty is solely to that of one nation, not possibly to another (Slovakia).

Kut (thinks she should give back her passport)

Or maybe Michelle Obama was flattered. Mrs Trump DID say she admired her.

Really, what's stopping them from doing it right now? Do you really think Russia is afraid of NATO or the US?

This is a "distraction". A good one. But not germane to my observation.

My observation is that the potential First Lady of the United States of America might well become a dual citizen of Russia due to her husband's inexperience in foreign policy. You're "ok " with that. Well, I have a different vision for America.

And is Russia afraid of the US and NATO? Absolutely. As well they should be.

I'm pretty sure Russia has done whatever they want the last 8 yrs. or so with little impunity or fear of what we might do, after all they have known exactly what our response would be thanks to our experienced in foreign policy Democrat Nominee .
No thanks, of the options on the table I'll take Trumps inexperience over Hilary's experience any day.

Yeah. Crush Georgia, partition the Ukraine, bomb US supported rebel groups opposed to Assad (and everybody else) and poison or kill various dissidents and pesky reporters just to name a few. Kinda hard to find the fear of the NATO and US (aren't they the same thing militarily) reaction in there

Yeah, not so much. Example: Putin wants to take the Baltics. He hasn't why; the Baltic Military Machine? Putin is quite aware of his limits.
