I think I've posted a fair number of articles that link to interesting info/topics for INGO members.

Do I "search" for each and every post topic that I do?

Do I count the number of times that a similar topic has been posted and divide by the number of days to arrive at some specific number that gives me permission to post the article?

I didn't see the "search" word in Frank's post. If he wanted to use it, he could have -- without the snark.

You're, of course, completely free to post whatever you want (within TOU), but if you don't search, and it is a topic that has been covered over and over, you will probably get "reminders."
By the way, did you know that the lifetime LTCH is going away?

He's a cop. He doesn't like what you posted.

I sometimes do use the search feature to see if something has been posted before I post it, it couldn't hurt. But there's nothing wrong with rehashing an important topic every now and then. Don't sweat it.

The reality of this subject is that some police and prosecutors can and will use every word you say to jam you up, innocent or not. Say as little as possible until you get a lawyer. Use your discretion, but mostly keep your mouth shut.

I use the search feature all the time on current event stories, and have not posted a number of them where someone beat me to it. But a general interest topic is just that... general interest. There are always new people who haven't participated in these "past discussions" who might like to learn something or to share their views. And this particular article was fresh... only ten days old.

And as noted by a previous poster... even though he was familiar with the topic and professor he learned something new... the professor seems to be changing a small bit.

I think you are right about it just being a reflexive cop response...along with the feeling of "ownership" that comes from being a long-term poster.

Have I told anybody that INGO brings a smile to my face almost daily? I feel like I'm waiting on mom's pot roast.

I'm still not talking to you.

    Don't pretend you don't know why.[SUP]1[/SUP]

The difference is that lawyers don't want you to talk to them, unless of course you are paying them for the privilege!

I don't know. I've had dinner with a lawyer and his family. It was very pleasant and he didn't even consider it a billable hour!

I'm going to need a name to get the disciplinary action rolling.

I am afraid to answer because you might start the meter...in fact I'd rather talk to Kut. If that don't turn this thread jack on its head.

It also explains why T.Lex spoke to me for 30 sec before walking away...he could tell I couldn't afford the conversation!

Is frank some kind of police officer? If so, I hope his reasoning powers work better in the field than what he exhibits on INGO.

That topic has been discussed ad nauseum on INGO.

Since he can very obviously see -- and in fact even mentions my short time on INGO -- then what does what has been "discussed ad nauseum" have to do with a new poster? If I've offended the FINAL ARBITRATOR of what is "acceptable posts with a worthy goal" and "unacceptable posts with a goal I don't like" then please forgive me.
I may be wrong, but. I think Frank was just making light hearted fun. I really don't think he was trying to be a jerk.

    Necropost!

Police ignore "purple". SO KEEP YOUR SNARKY COMMENTS TO YOURSELF AND DON'T USE SARCASM! (No matter how obvious you think it is)

Just finished watching Forensic Files Season 1, Episode 12 on Netflix.

A girl is abducted from her home in the middle of the night and sexually assaulted and killed. At some point her killer bit her shoulder, leaving serious bite marks.

After being brought into the station for questioning for SERIOUSLY sketch forensic evidence (bite mark comparison) the suspect was getting frustrated with investigators. He told investigators repeatedly that he was innocent because he was asleep at home during the crime. After being asked over and over about how he kidnapped her, he uttered in obvious frustration and sarcasm "Welp. Then I guess I did it in my sleep then, huh?!" (paraphrased).

Cops ignored his tone and took that comment as a confession that he admitted to doing it while he was sleepwalking and threw him in jail pending a trial. It took a sharp defense attorney that had to get NASA involved to digitally enhance the forensic bite mark photo and show that what was visible in the first photo wasnt the whole story, and there were actually TWO bites; making the first conclusion of a match go out the window.

He was released 4 months later once his attorney was able to point out that the bite marks didnt really match, and his "confession" was just frustrated sarcasm.

    Keep your pie hole shut.

Hollywood renditions of real investigations are... unreliable. Ask some of our guys who've been conned into being on tv.
