Quite the coincidence, but one report said there was someone driving by with a dash cam at the exact moment of the explosion and got it on film.

    The exact moment.

    On film.

    Quite the coincidence.

I wish that I had a dash cam rolling a couple weeks back. Was driving into town for a lunch break and saw this yuppie looking kid with a megaphone on the car's tailpipe make a wonderful crash scene. My guess is his flip flop fell off as he was trying to brake and he gassed it instead... barely clipped car in front of him, ate a tree and bounced into the car in front of the one he clipped.

We stopped, told my guy to call 911, walked to first car and he was fine. Walked to the yuppie kid who jumped out of his car with a hella bloody nose. Asked if he was fine to which he just *****ed about his car. Cope showed up in seconds. Nobody in need of my flimsy first aid so I bailed before the traffic jam.

911 never went thru... which sucked. I still look at the tree with the shaved bark and shake my head.

Man I wish I had a dash cam to make it go viral.

I used to live by Twin Aire (still own the house if anyone is interested in buying a rental, anyone, anyone?) and can safely say Washington St is a busy road at all times of day.

I can pull video from our cameras at work, at any time of day or night (facing Washington St just blocks from this incident)and they are always active, which means there is always traffic out there. No movement on camera for 60 seconds, it stops recording.

All joking aside.. I want to know what this device was, if there may be more, and if the ATF is involved. This was no gas main and it was strong enough to blow a dashcam off it's mount from inside a car.

I live on 10th,west of Shadeland and I heard/felt it here. When a transformer blows it will also cause the lights to flicker. Even here I could tell it was at least twice as loud. I'm sure the authorities know it was a device. Underground utilities would be quickly identified.

Well, as a former Combat Engineer I'd say if it left a hole and coated the guy's car in mud, it was buried. No other plausible single device is going to both crater and push a significant amount of dirt outward. I don't think a gas line explosion would be so contained and not leave a fire burning. The interesting thing would be how was it detonated? Timer that just happened to go at the right time to catch a motorist or remote detonation with an observer? And for what purpose? Prank/scare? Buried charges aren't for causing casualties, and that's not where you'd place a device if you wanted to hurt people to get attention.

I can’t believe we have not heard an outcome to this. I’m starting to wonder what they are hiding.
Or who they are looking for?
Where are you guys seeing a good video at? The very short one I saw didnt show anything. Then the guys camera fell inside of the car it looked like and I didnt see dirt fly or anything.
Was there any damage to the road?

Drove thru the area on Thursday evening and didn’t see any evidence of explosions in the 3 medians. Seems if it was such a big explosion, there would have been more evidence in such a small area. :dunno:

Where's Frank? Frank, are you boys sleeping at the wheel? Jkjk. I too am kinda curious as to what has been found and share the same concerns. I don't know if anything is being witheld from the media or not, but it wouldn't surprise me either. I would imagine too its possible since it was a relatively small explosion that there may not have been much evidence left.
