Wonderful ! You stood out. Hopefully, this will be the one !

We shall see! At the very least, it will be excellent practice and if it goes well, more than that.

I'm hoping that for whatever job I secure, the compensation exceeds my previous position. Almost everything for which I am applying will require business attire on a regular basis. I own zero suits and few things that even muster to the level of business casual. It's going to cost!

good luck rhino! saying a prayer for you!

corporate just laid another 2 off here 1 ft and one pt, the part timer was laid off from here earlier this year from her full time position (she was off 3 months, and they hired her back as a part timer)

its just a matter of time before they come for the rest of us!, i'll ride it out though, if I get laid off ill get like 30 weeks of separation pay but its a bs separation policy!

I have to apply for unemployment, and they add to the unemployment so i make what I was making before i got laid off, and if i take another job, the separation pay stops!, my 3 fallback jobs have all closed, the only field ive ever worked in full time has been in the printing industry, and you know how many of them are hiring?...ill give you a hint...none!, so id have to go to a plastics company that still prints, and theres one close, but i'd be working nights and weekends and 21 days straight before i got a day off!

i do know a lot about guns and i do work part time in a shop, but he doesn't need a ft employee, and even if he did, i couldn't make enough to support myself!

    Thank you, sir!

That's a very complicated severance package. If I stay until 11/02, I get one week of pay for each year of service.

that's what i'd get, I'm 1 month away from 32 years (this is the only full time job ive ever had) I started here in November 86 less than 6 months after graduating high school, I don't make a fortune, but ive raised 2 kids lived through a divorce and been able to pay all my bills (plus I get 35 vacation days a year)

the printing industry is on its last leg, add to that I work for a newspaper (we print gloss inserts that go into the paper) and ive got emails that start "as we continue our transition to digital" makes me wonder how much longer I really have, I started printing when I was a freshman in hs, and I really doubt ill make it to retirement in the field.

ive always like taking a blank piece of paper and turning into something you use to help your business, and now you can have business cards printed, that show your facebook page that can tell you more than a flyer, brochure or any printed paper ever could!

in fact, if you live in indy Evansville, ft wayne or Lafayette, and read the paper you might have seen some of our work, and hopefully we'll be getting work from Louisville and Nashville soon, that might help our situation, but all it'd do delay the inevitable

    Good luck to you!

32 years is a quite a run for anything, especially a job. If I make it to 11/02, I'll get four weeks for severance. The big problem for me will be affording the COBRA extension on my health insurance until I get a new job.

When my step daughter was out of work she qualified for hip (healthy Indiana plan)
i don’t know a lot about it but she paid 12 dollars a year (not a typo) and pretty much all her medical expenses were free

id check into it can’t hurt

I recently learned that there is a version of the Buck 110 auto with green canvas Micarta scales and brushed brass bolsters. It looks really, really good in photos.

So I started sweating on the upper lip and trying to not go to an online vendor and put it in my shopping cart. I was about to lose the battle when I noticed that the blade is 420HC. Now, Buck's 420HC is actually pretty good (superior heat treatment), but when they do something like this it usually has CPM S30V or better. Seeing the 420HC snapped me out of the fugue state and allowed me to close the browser tab!

    Whew!

Still holding strong since I acquired those DLT Trading exclusive Buck 110s last year. You'd think that if enough time passes, the urge would diminish, and yet is has not!

I'm trying to decided what I'll get to celebrate whatever new job I get when I get a new job. I didn't think I'd have this much time to ponder!

    Rhino,

When I hit the lottery (any day now), I will be offering you employment as my personal knife expert. The job will entail telling me about all the new knives I must buy immediately. Salary will be negotiable, and dependent on how much loot I win on the lottery.
